XAT Exam Pattern 2022 – XLRI has announced the new XAT 2022 exam pattern. As per the notification released XAT 2022 will have 101 questions instead of the previous 100 questions. After 3 years, the essay writing question comes back as part of the Xavier Aptitude Test 2022. XAT admit card was released on 24 December 2021 at the official website i.e. xatonline.in. The XAT exam date is January 2, 2022. More than 160 institutes use the XAT score to admit students to management programs. For those who have applied for the exam, this article provides a full overview of the XAT exam format 2022.

XAT 2022 Exam Structure

XLRI has released the exam structure for XAT 2022 on the official website. Candidates can refer to the following information.

  1. XAT entrance exam will only be conducted in English language.
  2. There will be two types of questions – MCQs and an essay based question. There will be 5 options in multiple choice based questions.
  3. The total number of questions in XAT 2022 is 101 (100 MCQs and 1 essay question).
  4. Total exam duration of XAT 2022 is 190 minutes. PwD applicants have the option of submitting their responses at any time between 165 and 220 minutes for part 1 and 25 to 30 minutes for part 2. As a result, depending on the test completion time, a PwD candidate may depart the lab between 180 and 250 minutes.
  5. Once the timer reach zero in 165 minutes the 1st part will be locked. Now the candidates will be moved to part 2 of the question paper, which is the general knowledge and essay part. The candidates are not permitted to leave the testing facility until the test has been completed.
  6. The question paper is divided into two parts, each of which is time bound.

XAT 2022 Marking Scheme

The marking scheme for XAT 2022 is provided below :

  1. The number of points awarded for each right answer is as follows: +1 point
  2. Negative marks for wrong response: -0.25 point
  3. After 8 unattempted questions, each unattempted question receives a negative mark: -0.10 point
  4. General Knowledge questions are not subject to negative grading.
  5. Essay will be evaluated only after the candidates are selected for the interview.
  6. If a question is answered and flagged as “marked for review” at the end of the test for that section, then the answer will be considered for evaluation.

Essay writing will be a significant part of the XAT 2022 exam, and you have to prepare an essay in at most 250 words. It’s tough and important, so prepare yourself and learn how to write an essay:
