XAT 2023 Syllabus – Syllabus of Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT) 2023 is yet to be officially released by XLRI. However, according to previous years’ syllabus, we can say that XAT 2023 Syllabus will consist of five sections; Quantitative Ability & Data Interpretation, Verbal & Logical Ability, Decision making, General Knowledge, and Essay Writing. The weightage of each section will be different. Therefore, candidates planning to appear for XAT 2023 must start preparing for the exam by diving deep into the syllabus of XAT and develop a good understanding of it. XAT 2023: Weightage of Sections

The weightage of each of the five sections of XAT syllabus is different. Quantitative Ability & Data Interpretation is the section consisting the maximum number of questions in the XAT exam i.e. 28. XAT 2023 Exam Pattern

The exam pattern of XAT 2023 is not released by XLRI yet. But we are providing you with the exam pattern of XAT 2022, which is expected to remain unchained for XAT 2023. You can check XAT exam pattern below.

  • XAT 2023 is a computer-based exam and will be held in ‘Online’ mode.
  • Duration of the exam will be three hours.
  • There will be 100 MCQ type questions in total.
  • One essay writing question will also be there in XAT 2023.
  • There will be 5 sections in the question paper; Quantitative Ability & Data Interpretation, Verbal & Logical Ability, Decision Making, General Knowledge, and Essay Writing.
  • One mark shall be awarded for every correct answer.
  • 0.25 mark shall be deducted for every question answered incorrectly.
    • There will be no negative marking in General Knowledge section.
    • 0.10 mark shall be deducted for every eight consecutive questions left unanswered.

Preparation Strategy for XAT 2023

Following a right preparation strategy is important. With what previous years’ toppers and XAT experts have said about the preparation strategy of XAT, we have mentioned some important points which are proven to be effective, below. You can go through them and strengthen your preparation strategy for XAT 2023.

  • Go through the exam pattern and syllabus of XAT 2023 and develop a good understanding of it.
  • List out the topics which are difficult for you or with which you are not comfortable.
  • Slowly and steadily study the difficult topics. Don’t rush in order to complete the syllabus fast.
  • While focusing on the difficult part, don’t forget to keep practicing the easy part of the syllabus.
  • Solve mock tests and sample papers.
  • Make a time table for studying and follow that sincerely.
  • Keep practicing essay writing. Write at least two essays a week on any random topic.

What is the exam pattern of XAT 2023?
The exam pattern of the test is as follows – the time duration of the exam is 3 hours, the mode of the exam is online, each question carries a 01 mark, and there is a negative marking of 0.25 for wrong answers. Please not that negative marking is not applicable in the General Knowledge section.
