OU is looked forward to conduct TS PGECET 2021. Osmania University conducts the Post Graduate Engineering Common Entrance Test (PGECET) once a year on behalf of Telangana State Council of Higher Education (TSCHE). The exam date of TS PGECET 2021 is to be announced soon at the website pgecet.tsche.ac.in. The examination is conducted for admission to regular PG programs in the field of Engineering, Technology, Architecture, Pharmacy (ME/M.Tech./M.Pharmacy/M.Arch/Pharm. D). It is conducted as an online Computer Based Test (CBT). Successful candidates are offered admission to PG professional programs in the state of Telangana. GATE qualified candidates are given first preference for admission to various PG courses in Institutions/Colleges of the state of Telangana. After exhausting the available list of GATE qualified candidates, the remaining seats are filled up with candidates on the basis of their TS PGECET 2021 exam for the academic session commencing in 2021.

TS PGECET 2021 Exam Date

As per the previous year schedule of events of TS PGECET, the official information brochure was released in the first week of the month of March. With this, the expected exam date was also announced at the official website i.e. pgecet.tsche.ac.in.

It can be observed from the dates table provided above that Osmania University has been consistently scheduling and conducting the TS PGECET exam during the last week of May every year. Last year, as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, the exam was postponed and conducted in the month of September. However, during the previous years, the University has successfully conducted the test in the last week of May. As such, it is expected that TS PGECET 2021 will be scheduled and conducted during the last week of May 2021.


TS PGECET 2021 Eligibility Criteria

TSCHE specifies certain minimum conditions of eligibility for applicants to comply with before they can apply for TS PGECET 2021. Besides some general conditions as stated here, the detailed institute-wise eligibility criteria for admission to courses such as ME M.Tech./M.Pharmacy/M.Arch/Pharm. D is indicated in an institute-wise manner at the official website.

General Conditions of Eligibility

  • Only Indian nationals are eligible for TS PGECET 2021.
  • Only those candidates who are domiciles of the State of Telangana/Andhra Pradesh are eligible.
  • Must have a relevant degree at the graduate level (B.E./B.Tech./AMIE/B.Pharmacy etc.) corresponding to the PG course being applied for.
  • Must have secured an aggregate of at least 50% marks (45% for SC / ST candidates) in the qualifying examination.

TS PGECET 2021 Application Form

Last year, the application process of TS PGECET 2021 was conducted online at the official website only. It is expected that the application process will be conducted in the same manner this year. As such, no other modes of application will be accepted for this purpose. Candidates intending to apply must know about the application fee amount specified here. How to apply?

Step 1: The first step is to open the official website i.e. pgecet.tsche.ac.in and click on the link to apply online.

Step 2: Candidates have to pay the application fee at first. The fee details can be checked at the end of this section.

Step 3: Candidates can now apply online by clicking on the “Fill Application Form” link.

Step 4: At first, candidates must complete the registration process by entering the relevant details on the registration page.

Step 5: Once the registration process is completed, candidates can upload necessary documents and fill up the application form.

Step 6: It is recommended that candidates generate a print out of the finally submitted application form for future reference.

Application Fee

As per the previous year TS PGECET exam, candidates have to pay a late fee of Rs 500 if they apply after the closure of the application process during the extended period of applications. How to Prepare for TS PGECET 2021?

Candidates willing to appear for TS PGECET 2021 are expected to follow the syllabus prescribed by the Osmania University to conduct the CBTs. Candidates must note that the TS PGECET 2021 admit card is a mandatory piece of document that must be produced at the exam centre in order to be allowed to appear for the CBT of TS PGECET. In addition, candidates are also advised to carry a valid photo identity card to the exam centre for verification of identity.

TS PGECET 2021 Answer Keys

As per the conventional trends of conducting the TS PGECET exam, the answer keys and the master question papers are released at the official website i.e. pgecet.tsche.ac.in after the exam. The University releases the answer keys in two stages.

At first, the provisional answer keys of TS PGECET exam are released. The correct answers to the various papers of Engineering and other admissions are released in a provisional manner at first. Candidates are allowed to submit representations against these. However, once the final answer keys are released, no objections can be raised.

TS PGECET 2021 Result

The Osmania University released the rank cards for the TS PGECET exam for individual candidates last year. This year as well, the TS PGECET 2021 results are expected to be released at the website pgecet.tsche.ac.in in the form of rank cards. Candidates are provided admission to the available seats in the participating Universities based on the rank secured in the exam. It must however, be noted that admissions are conducted preferably on the basis of GATE/GPAT qualifications. Candidates who qualify in the TS PGECET 2021 exam are provided admission through counselling based on the availability of seats and preferred course.

TS PGECET 2021 Counseling

As per the conventions followed by the Telangana State Council of Higher Education (TSCHE), the last year counselling for admission was conducted in a offline manner. Candidates qualifying in the exam were called for counselling on a particular date and time to a particular venue. The details of the counselling and the official notification regarding the same are expected to be releasing at the TSCHE website as per schedule after the exam. Candidates must note that they have to produce the original documents and other testimonials during the counselling process.

About Osmania University

The Osmania University, Hyderabad was established in the year 1981. It conducts the TS PGECET entrusted by the TSCHE. It is the seventh oldest university in the country and the third oldest in South India. In addition, Osmania University is the oldest university in the state of Telangana.

The foundation of the Osmania University is credited to His Exalted Highness Mir Osman Ali Khan, the Seventh Nizam of Hyderabad. Essentially, it is recognized as the first university of its type to conduct educational programs in the Urdu language. At one point of time, it was also the largest affiliating University in Asia with nearly 800 affiliations across 3 districts of the state of Telangana.

Osmania University was accredited with a 5-star rating by the NAAC in 2001. Subsequently, the university was also granted the A grade by NAAC in 2008. It has also been ranked at the 7th place in the list of top Indian Universities as per a survey by India Today – Nielson.

Currently, Osmania University stands as a multi-faculty and multi-campus University. It offers comprehensive academic training with 12 faculties and 53 academic departments. It operates through 8 campuses and 8 constituent colleges. At present, the University offers 21 academic courses (125 combinations) at the UG level.
