Telangana State Education Common Entrance Test (TS EdCET) is a state level entrance test that is held for admission into B.Ed regular course in the colleges of Telangana state. TS Ed CET 2022 Eligibility
There are some eligibility criteria set by the authorities for the candidates who are planning to take part in TS Ed CET into 2 years B.Ed course. Candidates who qualify the eligibility criteria will be eligible to take part in TS Ed CET. The eligibility criteria is as follows:
- The candidate should be of Indian Nationality.
- The candidate should satisfy “local” / “non- local” Status requirements as laid down in the Telangana Educational Institutions (Regulation of Admission) Order, 1974, as subsequently amended.
- Candidates should have passed or appeared for a qualifying examination In any bachelor’s Degree i.e. B.A, B.Com, B.Sc, B.Sc (Home Science), BCA, BBM, B.A (Oriental Languages), BBA or in the Master’s Degree, securing at least 50% aggregate marks.
- Bachelors in Engineering or Technology with 50% aggregate marks or any other qualification equivalent thereto.
- For candidates belonging to the reserved categories, i.e. SC/ ST/ BC, and other reserved categories should have secured 40% Marks in the qualifying examination.
- Candidates appearing in final year degree esxamination will also be eligible to apply.
Note: Candidates possessing MBBS/ BSC (AG) / BVSC/BHMT/ B.Pharm and such other professional and job-oriented degree courses Viz., LLB are not eligible for admission into B.Ed Course and, Candidates possessing a Master’s Degree without having undertaken undergraduate study are not eligible.
- The candidate should have completed the age of 19 years as on 1st July of the year in which notification is issued. There shall be no maximum age limit.

TS EdCET 2022 Application Form
How to Apply: The application form for TS Ed CET will be released online on the official website. The form can be filled in online mode only. To fill the form, candidates will have to fill in the required information, upload the necessary documents and pay the required fee. Candidates should keep a reference number and a copy of the filled application form with them for future reference.
Fee: The application fee for TS Ed CET is Rs. 650/- for general candidates and Rs. 450/- for SC, ST, and PH candidates.
Documents Required: Hall ticket Number of Qualifying Examination, Date of Birth, Caste in case of SC/ST/BC candidates, PH/NCC/ Sports and Games, etc, Income certificate from the competent authority, Study or Residence or relevant certificate for proof of local status, Aadhar Card, Bank Account details.
TS Ed CET 2022 Pattern
It is very important to be well aware of the exam pattern of the exam in which the candidates are going to appear. The exam pattern for TS Ed CET is as follows:
- Mode: The TS Ed CET will be conducted in online mode. Ii will be a Computer Based Test (CBT).
- Language: The exam will be held in English/Telugu and English / Urdu only.
- Duration: The total duration of the test is 2 hours.
- Total Marks: TS Ed CET will be of 150 marks.
- Total Questions: A total of 150 questionswill be asked in the exam.
- Marking Scheme: One marks will be awarded for ecah right answer.

TS Ed CET 2022 Admit card
How To Download: The TS Ed CET admit card will be released on the official website, in online mode. To download the TS Ed CET admit card, candidates need to enter the reference number and DOB.
Significance: The hall ticket is very important for the exam as no entry will be allowed without the admit card. So, carry the admit card to the exam hall without fail.
Details Printed: Details like name of the candidates, exam date, time, exam center address, application number, general instructions related to the exam, etc, will be printed on the admit card.
TS Ed CET 2022 Answer Key
The official authority releases the answer key for TS EdCET 2022 on the official website. The answers key carries the correct answers for all questions that are asked in the exam. Candidates can also download the pdf. In case, the candidates are not satisfied with any response then they can also raise an objection against the same.
TS Ed CET Result 2022
How To Check: The TS Ed CET result will be released in the form of a PDF. To check the result, candidates need to enter the login using DOB and hall ticket number.
Significance: The result carries the marks of the candidates and the rank in the exam. Based on the ranks secured, admission and allotment of seats are done. In case 2 or more candidates get the same rank in the exam, then the tie-breaking criteria.
TS EDCET 2022 Counselling
After the release of the result, candidates who qualify for the exam will then have to appear for the counseling process. The counseling is conducted by the Telangana State Council of Higher Education (TSCHE). In the counseling process, candidates need to first appear for document verification, exercise options for colleges, Download the provisional allotment letter, and then reporting to the college.
Rules Of Reservation For Admission
Local Area-Wise Reservations:
i. Admission to 85% of the seats in each methodology shall be reserved for the local candidates and 15% of the seats shall be left unreserved as specified in the Andhra Pradesh Educational Institutions (Regulations and Admissions) Order 1974 as amended in G.O.P.No.646 Education (W) Department, dated: 10th July 1979.
ii. The Telangana State comprising the districts (Old) of Adilabad, Hyderabad (including twin cities), Ranga Reddy, Karimnagar, Medak, Mahabubnagar, Nalgonda, Nizamabad, Khammam, and Warangal shall be regarded as Osmania University- Local Area.
iii. The A.P State comprising the districts of Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam, East-Godavari, WestGodavari, Krishna, Guntur, and Prakasam shall be regarded as the Andhra University-local area.
iv. The A.P State comprising the districts of Anantapur, Kurnool, Chittoor, Kadapa, and Nellore shall be regarded as the Sri Venkateswara University-Local Area.
The Local Candidate:
A. A candidate for admission shall be regarded as a local candidate in relation to the local area:
i. If he/she has studied in an Educational Institution or Educational Institutions in such local area for a period of not less than four consecutive academic years ending with the academic year in which he/she appeared or as the case may be first appeared in the relevant qualifying examination.
ii. Where, during the whole or any part of the four consecutive academic years, ending with the academic year in which he/she appeared or as the case may be first appeared for the relevant qualifying examination, he/she has not studied in Educational Institutions if he/she resided in the local area for a period of not less then four years immediately preceding the date of commencement of the relevant qualifying examination in which he/she appeared or as the case may first appear.
B. A candidate for admission to the course who is not regarded as a local candidate under clause (A) in relation to any local area shall be a local candidate.
a. If he/she has studied in educational institutions in the state for a period of not less than seven
consecutive academic year ending with the academic year in which he/she appeared or as the case
maybe first appeared for the relevant qualifying examination, be regarded as a local candidate in
i. Such local area where he/she has studied for the maximum period out of a said period of seven years
ii. Where the period of his/her studies in two or more local areas is equal, such local area where he/she has studied last in such equal periods.
b.If during the whole or any part of seven consecutive academic years, ending with the academic year in which he appeared or as the case may be first appeared for the relevant qualifying examination, he/she has not studied in the educational institutions in any local area but has resided in the State during the whole of the said period of seven years, be regarded as a local candidate in relation to:
i. Such local area where he/she has resided for the maximum period of the said period of seven years.
ii. Where the period so his/her residence in two or more local areas are equal, such local area where he/she resides last in such equal periods.
C. The following categories of candidates are eligible to apply for admission to the remaining 15% of unreserved seats.
i. All the candidates are eligible to be declared as local candidates.
ii. Candidates who have resided in the State for a total period of ten years excluding periods of study outside the State.
iii. Candidates either of whose parents are in the employment of this State or Central Government, Public Sector Corporations, Local Bodies, Universities, and similar other quasi-public institutions within the State at the time of submitting the application.
Iv.Candidates who are spouses of those in the employment of the State or Central Government, Public Sector Corporations, Local Bodies, Universities, and Educational Institutions recognized by the Government or University Or other competent authority and similar quasi Government Institutions within the State.
If a local candidate in respect of local area is not available to fill any seat reserved or allocated in favor of a local candidate in respect of that local area, such seat shall be filled in as if it has been un-reserved.
