Selection for B.Tech & B.Sc courses
For admission to B.Tech Marine Engineering or B.Sc Nautical Sciences programs, TMI shortlists candidates on the basis of IMUCET and PCM. After that, the following take place.
- Online Test (TMISAT) – There will be a test of 10+2 level. It will have 80 qs of 90 minutes. It will have in sections namely physics, mathematics, analytical and logical reasoning. After that there will be a behavioral assessment test for 30 minutes.
- Personal interview – A panel of educators and maritime professionals assess the candidates in a PI. Here they check their comm skills, leadership potential, thought clarity, reasoning abilities, and more.
- Medical examination – Candidates have to pass the requisite medical requirements.
Selection for DNS courses
For admission to DNS courses qualifying in IMU approved exam is mandatory. Those who fulfil this, besides other eligibility criteria can apply for admission to the 1 year Pre Deck Sea Cadet course leading to DNS & subsequently B.Sc Applied Nautical Sciences awarded by the Indian Maritime Institute.
Eligible applicants are directly called to appear in the Medical Examination & Personal Interview. From the qualifiers, the final merit list of candidates to fill up the available seats is determined.
