Selection procedure for admission to DNS program at TMI
The Tolani Maritime Institute does not conduct the TMISAT for candidates who seek admission to the DNS program. Instead, such candidates are directly called for appearing in the Medical Examination & Personal Interview stages.
Once the application process is completed, eligible candidates have to appear in the Medical Examination & Personal Interview. Qualifiers are issued admission letter & joining instructions by the TMI and sponsorship letter by the concerned shipping company.
Such candidates have to report for the course as per the admission letter and pay the fees online. After completion of the one year program i.e. IMUCET exam, qualifiers have to report to the sponsoring company for on-boarding process.
Medical Examination
Those who qualify through the TMISAT (or are called directly) have to appear in the Medical Examination. The Medical Tests are conducted by the Directorate General of Shipping (DGS) approved examiners to evaluate the physical & medical fitness of candidates.

Personal Interview
The final selection stage consists of the personal interview, which evaluates the suitability of the qualifying candidates for a seafaring career. The personal interview is conducted by a panel of faculty & external experts.
