For the year 2021, the TANCET exam was held on 20 March from 10 AM to 12 Noon for MBA.

The exam paper for MBA was divided into 5 sections as business situation analysis, reading comprehension, quantitative aptitude, data sufficiency & reasoning and general English. The difficulty level for each section was different. 20 questions were asked from each section.

TANCET 2021 MCA Exam Analysis

For the year 2021, the TANCET exam was held on 20 March from 2:30 PM to 4:30 PM for MCA courses.

The exam paper for MCA was divided into 4 sections as analytical reasoning, logical reasoning, computer awareness and quantitative aptitude. The difficulty level for each of the sections was different. A total of 25 questions were asked from each section.

TANCET 2021 ME / M.Tech / M.Arch / M.Plan Exam Analysis

For the year 2021, the TANCET exam was held on 21 March from 10 AM to 12 Noon for M.Tech, M.Arch. M.Plan and M.E courses.

The exam paper for other (M.Tech/M.E./M.Arch/M.Plan) courses was divided into 3 sections as engineering mathematics, basic engineering & science and the opted engineering subject for section III. The difficulty level for each of the sections was different. 20 questions were asked from section 1, 35 questions in section 2 while 60 questions were asked from section 3.

In section 2, out of 35 questions, the 20 correct answers will be considered for the marking. While incorrect answers out of the 35 will be considered for the negative marking. Unattempted questions will not count under consideration.

Marking scheme: 1 mark is awarded for each correct answer whereas 0.33 marks are deducted for every incorrect answer.

TANCET 2021 Review: Evaluation Scheme

The question paper will be divided into sections that will be designed to evaluate the ability of the candidates in different specializations like the business decision in a typical situation, skills of answering the questions, solving mathematical problems, engineering analytical problems, determining the data sufficiency and knowledge in English grammar.

The evaluations scheme based on the syllabus is given below:

Each paper will comprise 100 questions of 100 marks. There will be 4 alternative answers under each question, out of which, candidates have to choose the right one. 1 mark will be awarded to each correct answer. ⅓ mark will be deducted from the obtained mark for each incorrect answer.

TANCET 2021 Answer Key, Result

TANCET (Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test) is a state-level entrance test of Tamil Nadu. It is conducted by Anna University, Chennai every year for providing admissions in the associated colleges.

The examination is organized for admission to PG courses in the field of Management, Computer Application, Architecture & Planning and Engineering programmes like MBA, MCA, M.Tech, M.Arch. M.Plan and M.E courses.

The question paper of these courses will be sectioned into 3 parts. The first two parts are common for all candidates while the 3rd part is specific for a different course.

So, The marks of Part 3 will be computed using the formula:

Computed Marks of Part 3 = (X+R) M
Where X is the adjustment factor.
R is the raw mark scored by the candidates.
M is the multiplication factor used to level the averages of all subjects.

This gives the relative ranking of the candidates in any discipline. 

The percentile score is calculated using the formula:

Percentile Score =(Y/N)* 100
Where Y is the number of students scored lesser mark than the candidate in that examination
N is the total number of students who appeared for the examination.
