NID 2021 Application Form
The candidates can fill NID 2021 application form online at admissions.nid.edu. Before filling the application form, check the eligibility criteria, number of seats at NIDs, reservation criteria etc. Check NID 2021 application process given below.
Step 1: Registration: First of all, click on the link of the application form given above on this page. Next, enter the name, date of birth, gender email id, mobile number etc to register. Once the registration is done, the login credentials are sent to the registered email id. A confirmation SMS is also sent at the registered mobile number.
Step 2: Login and Fill the Application Form: Login and fill the details in the application form such as preferred exam centre, personal details, contact details, educational details.
Step 3: Upload the Documents: After entering all the required details, upload all the documents such as scanned images of photograph, signature, category certificate (if applicable).
Step 4: Pay the application fee: Then, pay the application fee.
Step 5: Print the application form: Once the payment is successful, download and take a printout of the submitted application form.

Educational Qualification for NID B.Des Admission 2021: In order to pursue B.Des, the candidates must have passed 10+2 in the year 2020-21 in any stream (Science, Humanities, Commerce, Humanities etc) from any recognized board of education such as CBSE, IB, ICSE or equivalent.
Examination that are considered as equivalent are as follows
- Final examination of 10+2 system under a State or Central Board recognized by the Association of Indian Universities.
- Final exam of the 2 year courses of the Joint-Services Wing of the National Defence Academy.
- Intermediate or 2 year Pre-University examination under a Board or University recognised by the Association of Indian Universities.
- Senior School Secondary Examination under National Institute of Open Schooling with at least 5 subjects.
- HSC Vocational Examination.
- Any public school, Board or University examination completed in India or in any foreign country recognized as equivalent to the 10+2 system by the Association of Indian Universities.
- General Certificate Examination (GCE) education at the Advanced (A) level taken in London, Cambridge or Sri Lanka.
- AICTE approved 3 year full-time Diploma after class 10th offered by Board of Technical Education of any state in India or Union Territories.
- All the candidates who have completed final examination of class 12th or equivalent from India or from a board not mentioned above must produce the equivalent certificate from the Association of Indian Universities confirming that the exam they have passed is equivalent to class 12th exam conducted in India.
Eligibility Criteria for Foreign Citizens: The candidates holding an Indian Citizenship of a country other than the Republic of India are eligible to apply under Overseas (Supernumerary) category only if they fulfill all the eligibility conditions mentioned above.
Educational Qualification for NID M.Des Admission 2021: The candidates must have any one of the following qualification given below.
- The candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree of minimum 4 year duration after the completion of class 12th from any university or institute recognized by law in India.
Note: The candidates must have passed the Bachelor’s degree examinations at the time of Document Verification scheduled to held in July / August 2021.
OR
- The candidates must have passed Full-time Diploma of at least 4 year duration in Fine Arts / Design / Applied Arts / Architecture after completing 12th standard from any university or institute recognised by law in India.
Note: The candidates must have passed the Diploma examinations at the time of Document Verification scheduled to held in July / August 2021.
OR
- The candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree of minimum 3 years duration in any specialization after 12th standard or equivalent to 12th standard.
Note:
- The candidates must have passed 3 year Bachelor’s degree examinations by the year 2020.
- All those candidates who were in their final academic year in the year 2019-20 and whose examinations were not conducted in the yera 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic can also apply.
Some important points
- The candidates who are in their final year of their Bachelor degree or full time diploma programmes whose universities may not have issued the final degree certificates before the last date of applying to NID can also apply with one condition that they must have passed all the subjects without any backlog. In such a case, these candidates are required to submit provisional degree certificates at the time of counselling.

NID 2021 Admit Card
National Institute of Design releases the admit card for DAT Prelims and Mains separately online at admissions.nid.edu.
- To download the NID 2021 admit card, the candidates are required to enter their email address, date of birth and verification code.
- The admit card is an important document which has to be carried to the exam centre.
- NID 2021 admit card displays the details like exam date, address of the exam centre, reporting time etc.
NID 2021 Result
The candidates must note that they shall be considered eligible for the merit lists only if they have cleared both the stages which are NID DAT Prelims and NID DAT Mains. Check the important points regarding NID 2021 result from below.
- The candidates can check DAT Prelims and DAT Mains result online at admissions.nid.edu.
- The candidates can check their result by entering their email id, date of birth and verification code.
- According to the scores obtained in Prelims, separate category-wise merit lists are prepared.
- Separate result cards are not given to the candidates.
- According to the merit list of DAT Prelims, the candidates are required to appear in DAT Mains.
Final Merit List: After the conduct of both DAT Prelims and DAT Mains, the category-wise final merit list is prepared. This is prepared as per the total sum of the weighted scores obtained by the candidates in DAT Prelims and DAT Mains. A separate merit list shall be prepared for the Overseas candidates for B.Des and M.Des programmes.
How to check final result? The candidates can check the final result by logging into their account.
Validity of score: The scores obtained in 2021-22 year shall be valid for this session only.
NID 2021 Cut-Off
The candidates from various categories are considered for admission only if they secure their final percentile scores exceeds the qualifying criteria specified by NIDs. The cut-off are announced after the decalaration of the result.

NID DAT 2021 Allotment of Seats
The allotment of seas is solely dependent on what the candidates have chosen at the time of filling the application form.
- The process of seat allotment for both B.Des and M.Des programme shall take place at NID Ahmedabad.
- The candidates have to appear on the allotment date with the proper documents.
- If the candidates report to the venue without the requisite documents, their seat shall be cancelled and shall be given to other eligible candidate in the order of merit.
Note: Keeping in mind the prevalent COVID-19 pandemic in the country, the candidates may be asked to pay the partial fees in order to confirm the admission. The physical verification of documents might take place at the reporting of the campus.
NID 2021 Answer Sheets
The candidates must note that their answer sheets are made available one year after the announcement of the final result. Note that the answer sheets are only available once the admission process is complete. Any request for attaining the answer sheet during the admission process shall not be entertained.
How to get the answer sheet?
The candidates have to make a payment of Rs 1000 per exam separately. Also, the admit card duly attested by the invigilator with the seal of the test centre have to be submitted as well.
The answer sheet shall be given to the candidates 15-20 days after receiving the payment on their respective email ids.
