NEET PG 2021 – It is officially informed that NEET PG 2021 exam has been postponed till at least August 31, 201. The new exam date will be announced at least 1 month before the exam. This has been done to help bring the medical workforce together in time of need of the country, to fight the COVID pandemic. MBBS completed, as well as MBBS final year students have been urged by PMO (Prime Minister’s Office) to join services in medical departments. The exam was initially supposed to be held on April 18, 2021. As per the new exam date, admit card will be released. National Board of Examinations is responsible for the conduct of National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Post-Graduation (NEET PG) 2021. It is the national level medical entrance exam for admission to MD, MS, PG Diploma, Post MBBS DNB Courses, NBE Diploma in all medical colleges, universities in India except AIIMS, PGIMER, NIMHANS, SCTIMST, and JIPMER.

The Prime Minister of India has taken key decisions regarding the NEET PG 2021 exam. Key points of the announcement are as follows.
- NEET PG 2021 will be postponed for at least 4 months.
- Exam will be held after August 31, 2021.
- NBE will announce new exam date at least 1 month before the exam date.
- Medical interns will be allowed to be on COVID management duties, under faculty supervision, as part of their internship rotation.
- Final year MBBS students can be utilized for services like tele-consultation, monitoring of mild COVID cases.
- Those who complete a minimum of 100 days COVID duties will get preference in upcoming government recruitment. They will also get Prime Minister’s Distinguished Covid National Service Samman from Government of India.
- Those who go for duty will get vaccination.
- Health professionals will also be covered under insurance scheme.

NEET PG 2021 Exam Date
National Board of Examinations will announce the new exam date for NEET PG 2021 in some time. Previously, the complete schedule was announced, and the same is given below. The dates you need to note are as follows.

NEET PG 2021 Admit Card
All candidates who submit the application form on time, and submit their documents, get the NEET PG 2021 admit card.
- The NEET PG admit card was made available for download from 13th April 2021 at NEET PG 2021 login.
- However now, once again new admit cards will be released as per new exam date.
- Last date to download it will be the exam day.
- NBE will also send email and SMS to candidates when admit card is issued.
- No one will get hall ticket by post or email.
- After downloading the admit card, candidates need to paste a passport size photo on it.
- Go to natboard.edu.in.
- Then click NEET PG 2021 link.
- And then, click the applicant login link.
- Now login with user id and password.
- After logging in, click the hall ticket download link.
- Then download and print the admit card of NEET PG 2021.
Photograph for admit card: It should be 35 mm by 45 mm. 75% area should be face and head of candidate. Full front view of candidate should be in it. No cap, stethoscope, goggles, ornaments should be in it. No red eye. Print quality of it should be more than 600 dpi. There must not be any kinks or scratches.
NEET PG 2021 Syllabus
The syllabus for National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Post-Graduation is the subject / knowledge areas as per Graduate Medical Education Regulations. GMER was issued by the previously known as Medical Council of India, which is now National Medical Council. Candidates appearing for the exam can download the GMER here to know their syllabus.
Exam Pattern of National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Post-Graduation
The scheme of exam is as follows.
Mode: NEET PG will be a computer based test, at center.
Type of qs: All questions will be multiple choice with single correct answer.
Number of questions: There will be 200 questions.
Language: Paper will be in English language only.
Time: Exam will be of 3 hours 30 minutes duration.
Marking scheme: You will get +4 for correct answer. Negative marking will be -1 for incorrect answers. No mark for un-attempted question.
Note – All questions which are marked for review are also considered submitted. So correct answers in it will fetch you 4 mark, incorrect will lead to deduction of 1 mark.
The demo test will be available on 8th April.
NBE will launch a demo test for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Post-Graduation. Candidates can take the demo test to familiarize themselves with the computer based test pattern.
NBE is conducting the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Post-Graduation at different exam centers across India. Candidates can choose preferred exam city while filling up the application form. However the final destination, where they have to go to take the exam, is informed to them via their hall tickets. Candidates must visit the exam center then, a few days before exam, in order to familiarize themselves with the location.
Note that exam center allotment is on a first come first serve basis. This means that when you are applying, you will see available center details, just like you see available seats while booking a movie ticket.
If you do not get test seat in state or UT where you want to give the exam, you can select OTHERS from the option. In this case NBE will try to allot an exam center in the city of the correspondence address of the candidate. However if such is not possible, then they will try to do it in the nearest place available. Those who opt for OTHERS, will get exam city details by 25th March 2021.
NBE will not entertain requests for NEET PG 2021 exam center change.
Exam Day Guidelines
NEET PG 2021 will be a social-distanced computer based test (SD-CBT). It will be in a safe environment as per norms of the safety in view of the pandemic. Do not carry anything except the allowed items.
Examination timings will be as follows.

Reporting counter closes 30 minutes before exam start time. Designated officials at the center will not allow late entry, or entry without documents.
There will be barcode / QR reader at entry point to read the admit card and ID proof. Here candidates will know about assigned lab number.
There will also be thermo guns to check temperature of candidates. Those above 99.14 degree fahrenheit or displaying symptom of COVID-19 will take exam in separate isolation lab.
Documents to take the center are following
- NEET PG 2021 admit card printout with bar code / QR code, with recent passport size color photo in it.
- Photocopy of permanent or provisional SMC / MCI registration – this you will have to submit at the center
Allowed photo ID are the following – Aadhaar card with photograph (this is first preference), PAN card, driving license, passport.
Those who bring e-aadhar card it should have adhar number on it. Should be color with clear photograph.
Note 1 – Indian nationals and OCI with primary medical qualification outside India, and qualified FMGE should bring FMGE screening test pass certificate.
Note 2 – Foreign nationals appearing in NEET PG 2021 should bring passport with other documents like registration with Medical Council in their country of nationality as proof of being a medical practitioner.
In all cases, name on photo ID should match that in admit card. In case of name change, bring document that proves name change like marriage certificate, divorce decree, legal name change document, gazette notification, et al.
Other items you can bring: Face mask, gloves, transparent water bottle, personal hand sanitizer.
You will not get rough sheet in center.
NEET PG 2021 Result
NBE will declare NEET PG result, scorecard at natboard.edu.in and nbe.edu.in by 31st May 2021.
- Candidates can check the result online. NBE publishes result first as a merit list of candidates who have been declared as qualified. Then, score card is issued for candidates.
- NBE does not entertain requests for re-checking or re-valuation.
- Result will be valid only for 2021 admission session.
Tie breaker criteria
Wherever two or more candidates get the same score, a tie breaker will be initiated. The rules are as follows.
- One who has more correct responses gets a better rank.
- If tie stays then the one who has fewer negative responses gets the better rank.
- If tie still remains then the older candidate gets a better rank.
- However if tie still stays then candidate with higher percentage of aggregate marks in MBBS gets the higher merit.
NEET PG 2021 Merit Lists and Ranks
NBE publishes the following.
- NEET PG 2021 Rank – Overall position in the exam.
- All India 50% Quota Rank – Tells rank among the candidates who are eligible for All India 50% quota counselling for MD, MS, PG Diploma courses.
- All India 50% Quota Category Rank – Tells your rank among candidates of same category who are eligible for All India 50% quota counselling for MD, MS, PG Diploma courses.
Note that you may qualify NEET PG 2021, but may not be in the All India 50% category list. In this case you can participate in the state level counselling.
In order to clear the NEET PG 2021 exam, you need to get the minimum qualifying cut off score. As per the Post Graduate Medical Education Regulations (as per latest amendment) notified by the NMC/ the erstwhile MCI with prior approval of MoHFW, Govt. of India, the same is as follows.

Counselling of NEET PG 2021 for MD, MS, PG Diploma, Post MBBS DNB Courses, NBE Diploma Admissions
The counselling process will follow declaration of results.
First thing in this process will be registration. The registration for NEET PG 2021 at the time of PG Counseling to be conducted by designated counseling authority will be as per the details of candidates submitted in NBE NEET-PG 2021 Application Form. Details with the counselling authorities will be partially pre-filled on the basis of registration form that you submitted at time of applying for the exam. Hence, it is advisable to maintain same registration details e.g. mobile number, Email ID etc. as provided in the NBE NEET PG 2021 Registration Form.
Non Disclosure Agreement
Candidates who apply for NEET PG enter into a non disclosure agreement. You cannot share anything asked in the exam verbally, electronically, written, or otherwise.
NBE also does not release answer key or response sheet of the exams.
Scope of NEET PG 2021
The NEET PG exam is for admission to the following seats
- All India 50% quota seats for all States/Union territories of India.
- State quota seats for all States/Union territories of India.
- All Private Medical Colleges, Institutions & Universities/Deemed Universities all across the country
- Armed Forces Medical Services Institutions.
- Post MBBS DNB Courses and Post MBBS NBE Diploma Courses
Note that the following medical colleges can hold their separate exams for PG medical admissions: AIIMS New Delhi and other AIIMS, PGIMER Chandigarh, JIPMER Puducherry, NIMHANS Bengaluru, Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology Trivandrum.
NEET PG 2021 Application Form / Registration
NBE has released NEET PG 2021 registration / application form on 23 February.
Candidates who wish to appear in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Post-Graduation must first of all register and apply for the exam. The important things to note about the registration process are as follows.
- Mode of applying for NEET PG 2021 is online, through the official website nbe.edu.in.
- Fill only one form.
- All details in the form should be correct and as per official documents.
- Do not leave any mandatory column blank.
- Read chapter 8 of NEET PG 2021 information brochure, on Instructions to fill NEET-PG 2021 application form, before applying.
- There is no scope to withdraw form.
Application Fee: Candidates need to pay the requisite fee amount in order to submit their form. Category wise fee are as follows.
- General and OBC candidates – Examination fee is Rs 4250. GST @ 18% is Rs 765. Therefore overall amount is Rs 5015.
- SC, ST, PWD candidates – Examination fee is Rs 3250. GST @ 18% is Rs 585. Therefore overall amount is Rs 3835.
You have to pay the fee using either a credit card or a debit card.

Candidates opting for OTHERS option shall be informed about their testing city by 25th March 2021.

How to apply for NEET PG 2021?
The process of registration and filling, submitting application form is as follows.

Eligibility Criteria for NBE NEET PG 2021
It is important for all candidates to check the eligibility criteria before applying. The conditions that you need to fulfill are as follows.
|Degree||You should have a MBBS degree or Provisional MBBS Pass Certificate|
|Recognition of MBBS Degree||Your MBBS degree should be recognized as per provisions of the NMC Act, 2019 and the repealed Indian Medical Council Act.|
|Internship||You should complete 1-year internship by 30th June 2021|
Note – Registration with the NMC/ the erstwhile Medical Council of India or State Medical Council is necessary and its documentary proof should be furnished by the candidates on the day of examination and at the time of counseling/admission.
Special note – Some colleges / universities have special eligibility criteria. Candidates should check college or university specific conditions on respective websites.
Eligibility criteria for Foreign Medical Graduates
Candidates who are Indian citizens or overseas citizens of India who have obtained their Primary Medical Qualifications from Medical Colleges outside India need to appear in the Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (Screening Test). Moreover, such candidates should be registered with NMC (erstwhile Medical Council of India), and complete internship by 30th June 2021. Foreign Medical Graduates must carry their FMGE Pass certificate on exam day along with the provisional/permanent registration certificate.
Eligibility criteria for Foreign Nationals
Foreign nationals need not have temporary registration with NMC at time of writing NEET PG 2021. After registration, NMC can give temporary registration for the duration of PG course.
NEET PG 2021 Correction / Edit Window
If candidates make a mistake in their application form, then they can make corrections during the NEET PG 2021 edit window.
- NEET PG 2021 application form correction window will open on 19th March.
- The last date to edit form is 21st March.
- Candidates have to visit nbe.edu.in, and login to make corrections in the form.
- Some, not all fields will be editable.
You cannot change these fields during correction – Name of candidate, email id, nationality, exam center city.
Note that candidates should not send email or any other communication to NBE to request editing of forms. All corrections should be during edit window only.
Image Deficiency and Final Edit Window
Candidates can rectify deficiencies in images in their application form during the final edit window from 02 to 04 April 2021.
NBE will send email / SMS to candidates about deficiency in their images. Any issue in images that are photograph, signature, thumb impression will be conveyed. Therefore candidates should check their email and sms regularly.

FAQS on NEET PG 2021
Ans. As per the Section 61(2) of the National Medical Commission Act, 2019 read with 10 (D) of Indian Medical Council Act, 1956, National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Post Graduate (NEET PG) is the national level medical entrance exam for admission to MD, MS, PG Diploma, Post MBBS DNB Courses, NBE Diploma courses all over India. It is also mandatory for foreign nationals who want admission in Indian colleges.
