NEET 2021 Notification with Date Can Be Out Today! These 5 key decisions by NTA, Education Ministry are expected

As per latest reports, NEET 2021 exam date, application form date, and other important details can be announced today i.e. January 25, 2021. This is because of the following reasons:

  1. Two days ago Times of India reported that a panel will meet on 25 January to decide whether hold NEET 2021 online and twice a year.
  2. Fifteen days ago India TV reported that Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank had told them that dates and details of NEET UG including its application form will be announced in 10-15 days.

Both these news reports were concrete and indicate that today is going to be the big day for NEET 2021 notification.

The only official confirmation on the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test until now has been that syllabus will not change. But other than that the date, exam pattern, registration, and all other details are unannounced. Moreover changes are expected in exam pattern, mode of exam, as well as its frequency. Read on on to what to expect.

NEET 2021 Exam Date, Application Form, Exam Pattern, Online, Twice a Year – 5 Important Decisions Expected In Today’s Notification

Panel with key members from NTA (National Testing Agency), MoE (Ministry of Education), and MoHFW (Ministry of Health and Family Welfare) are meeting today, January 25, 2021, to take critical decisions on NEET 2021. Here are the 5 things they are expected to decide and publish notification on today.

1. NEET 2021 twice a year

This year JEE Mains will be held four times. Ever since this announcement was made, NEET 2021 aspirants have been demanding that the frequency of NEET UG should be increased to at least 2 times. The advantage of increasing the frequency of this exam will be as follows:

a. It will avoid clash with board exam dates. This year all the boards are holding exams on off-beat dates. That is whereas usually board exams for class 12 science students in all boards end by March, this time some exams will be in March, others in April, May, June, and so on. In each state and board the dates are vastly different. So if there is a single NEET 2021 exam date, then it may clash or be very near some board exam date. Having NEET UG multiple times will avoid this issue.

b. Students will not have to waste a year if they fall ill. The pandemic is an ongoing situation, and multiple students could be ill on any given date. If there is a single exam date then many will have to miss the test. However multiple exam dates will ensure that they can take the test on the other date.

c. Improve chances of students to perform and reduce pressure. Multiple exam dates will reduce the pressure to perform on any one date, just like it has been done in JEE Main 2021.

2. NEET 2021 in Online Mode

The JEE Mains exam was gradually converted to an online mode exam. That is initially students were given option to chose between online and offline, and then only online option remained.

However in the case of NEET, the exam has been staunchly offline i.e. pen and paper based test only. Whereas until now that has not been a big issue, this year owing to pandemic students are increasingly inclining towards an online exam. Reason being that now more students are comfortable with an online exam, having taken more online exams in the past year than ever before.

And also, online exam would eliminate delays in results, and increase transparency in the conduct of exam.

This too is under consideration, and a decision in this regard is expected today.

3. NEET 2021 Exam Date

Social media is flooded with students requesting for the announcement of NEET 2021 exam date. Whereas it was expected to be announced in November of last year, the notification has been delayed by two months now. And the most disturbing part for NEET aspirants is that the application form of JEE Main 2021 is already over for the first session exam.

Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank reportedly told India TV on January 10, 2021, that NEET 2021 dates will be announced in 10-15 days. Therefore the exam date announcement of NEET UG 2021 is also expected today that is January 25, 2021.

As per different reports, if NEET is held only once then it should have been on May 2, 2021. However now we know that CBSE exams will be at that time and hence the exam can only be in June or July.

However if the exam is held twice then the dates can be in May and June, or June and July.

4. NEET 2021 Application Form

Students are eagerly waiting for the NEET 2021 registration to start. Not only that, many are confused that they may have missed the form deadline already as some websites, social media posts are showing incorrect form dates.

Going by the Education Minister’s interview, the application form dates, details, fees, and other information on NEET application form 2021 are also expected today that is January 25, 2021.

Students may note, and be rest assured that they will get due notification and time from NTA. The registration will be available at ntaneet.nic.in and at least one month’s time will be given to apply.

5. NEET 2021 Exam Pattern

A lot of confusion was caused a few days ago when the Education Minister made some announcement in a webinar about reduced syllabus. However within 24 hours, Ministry of Education clarified that syllabus will not be changed. But, there can be changes in the exam pattern.

As you already know, this year the exam pattern of JEE Mains was changed and optional questions were introduced in it. This has been done so that students who are studying in those boards, where syllabus has been reduced, can also attempt the paper.

Likewise for NEET 2021 also there are chances that exam pattern can be changed and there could be optional questions. Both Education Ministry, as well as the Minister have commented upon this and that NTA is deciding upon it.

The decision on this too – that whether NEET 2021 will have a new pattern or not, and if yes, what will be the new pattern, is also expected to be announced today.
