NEET 2021 Postponement Will Effect NMC Guidelines
NEET 2021 cannot be postponed to be very late, because then it will conflict with NMC guidelines on MBBS admissions. National Medical Commission (NMC) has published the calendar for MBBS I, II, III (1), III (2), Internship, and PG courses for the years 2021, 2022, 2023, 2014, and 2025. You can check it below.
You can also download the official notification here.
Now as you can see, the timeline recommends MBBS classes to start as per it. And this can only happen if NEET 2021 is held in a not too delayed manner.
As per the order of NMC, the delayed medical academic session of 2020-21 must start from February 01, 2021. All medical colleges of the nation were asked to get back to normalcy from December 01, 2020.
Since the classes will start in a full-fledged way from February 2021, there is no reason to delay the NEET 2021 exam for admissions of the next batch of doctors. The counselling is almost over for this session and the preparation for the next batch can now start.
The session for 2020-21 must start as per the instructions above. If not done, then NEET 2021 will be affected and thus there are chances that the academic session 2021-22 can go null.
As per NMC, this can lead to the non-availability of 80,000 doctors for the next 5 years. The 2020-21 session has been already delayed by 4 months. Looking at this, it seems that NEET 2021 shall not be delayed much.
The above speculations have been made as per the latest news available on NEET 2021, and recent notices. Until any official announcement for NEET 2021, candidates must not assume anything to be as final. Therefore, candidates must keep an eye on the official websites – nta.ac.in, and ntaneet.nic.in.
