National Council for Hotel Management & Catering Technology Joint Entrance Examination (NCHMCT JEE) is a national level examination. The exam offers admission to hospitality and hotel administration programmes. Eligibility requirements

  • Candidates should have passed 12th class with English as one of the subjects (core/elective/ functional). 
  • Those who are appearing in 10+2 or equivalent examinations can also appear in NCHM JEE 2021 exam. However, their participation is counted as provisional. The provisional admission stand will be cancelled if aspirants are unable to submit proof of having passed the qualifying exam. 
  • The final admission is subject to the document verification of original certificates/ documents. This also includes the verification of caste/ category certificate at the time of admission. In case a candidate is found ineligible due to non-submission of documents, his/her admission is cancelled.  

List of exam equivalent to 10+2

  • Plus two level exam in 10+2 exam pattern of Senior Secondary Education of recognized central/ state Board. The recognized board includes the Central Board of Secondary Education and Council for India School Certificate Examination or State board of Secondary Education. 
  • Intermediate or two year Pre-University Exam conducted by recognized University/ Board. 
  • General Certificate (GCE) Exam (Cambridge/ London/ Sri Lanka) at Advanced (A) level. 
  • High School Certificate Exam of Cambridge University. 
  • Any Public School/ University/ board Exam in India or a Foreign country recognized by  Association of Indian Universities/ Council of boards of School Education (COBSE) as equivalent to the 10+2 pattern of Senior Secondary Education.  
  • Senior Secondary School Exam organized by National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) along with State Board of Open schooling. It should include a minimum of five subjects including English as one of the subjects. 
  • HSC Vocational Exam that is approved by NCVT and SCVT of the respective state/ Union Territory.

The date of birth of a candidate should be the same as recorded in the Secondary Education Board/Pre-University Certificate. This certificate acts as an authentic proof in support of the candidate’s age. At the time of counselling, aspirants have to carry this certificate as proof of age. Those who fail to produce the document are not eligible for the Counselling/ Admission. 

Note – Issuance of NCHMCT JEE 2021 admit card does not mean your form has been accepted. Eligibility is verified at the time of admission.

NCHMCT JEE 2021 Physical Fitness

All the eligible candidates must note they have to submit a physical fitness certificate. As per the notification, this certificate is used as proof that the candidate is capable of carrying out practical claims as the course requires. This certificate should be approved from a Registered Medical Practitioner in the prescribed format.

What After fulfilling NCHMCT JEE 2021 Eligibility Criteria?

The eligibility criteria are the primary step to shortlist eligible candidates for the courses offered. Aspirants who meet all the educational qualifications and other criteria can proceed to submit their online applications. Eligible candidates can submit their NCHMCT JEE 2021 Application Form through Beforehand keep the scanned photo, signature, educational qualification certificate, caste certificate and other documents. Once done, retain the following documents as a reference. 

  • 4 copies of confirmation page of application form
  • Proof of fee paid
  • Photograph same as that uploaded on the online application
  • The name of the photo ID should match that as shown in admit card. 


The National Council for Hotel Management & Catering Technology (NCHMCT) was set up in 1982. Early in its establishment years, it was set up as an Autonomous body under the Ministry of Tourism. Its main function was to coordinate the growth and development of hospitality management education in the country. NCHMCT now regulates Hospitality education and training. For this around 21 Central Govt. sponsored Institutes of Hotel Management, 26 State Govt. sponsored IHMs, 26 private Institutes, 1 PSU owned Institute are established in different parts of the country. Through NCHMCT, these institutes offered 11 different professional programs including the Diploma, Certificate, Post Graduate Diploma, Bachelor and Master Degree.
