How are the LSAT India scores calculated?
Unlike other entrance tests, the LSAC is conducted once in a year, and the result is released in a scale band of 420-480 and percentile basis. While releasing the scores in percentile form, the result is prepared by comparing each candidate’s performance.
Like for example: If a candidate scores 80% percentile, this doesn’t mean that the student has answered 80% of the answers correctly. Thus, the percentile score indicates that the candidate has performed better than 80% of the candidates of that particular group. The scores are compared within those respective groups only.
LSAT India 2021 Evaluation Process
The Law School Admission Counselling evaluates the scores of the candidates based on-
- The overall scores obtained between 420-480 from the four sections: Logical reasoning, comprehension, analytical reasoning section, and writing sample.
- Scores are also obtained for the variable section, however, it is considered for percentile calculation.
Formula to calculate the LSAT India percentile
The formula for calculation of LSAT percentile is as follows –
Percentile of candidates = (scores obtained by the applicant) *(total candidates obtaining marks less than them)/ (total number of candidates appeared in LSAT India 2020)
There is no negative marking in the exam for the wrong answers they attempt. However, the conducting body has not prescribed any specific marking scheme.
