Finally, JEE Main 2021 exam date has been announced by Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank.
NTA will conduct JEE Main 2021 February exam on 23, 24, 25, and 26 Feb 2021.
JEE Main 2021 Exam Date for Feb, Mar, Apr, May Session
Now, the exam date for all the 4 sessions of JEE Main 2021 has been announced. These are as follows:

Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank announced the exam date in a live meeting. In the live meet he said that JEE Main 2021 first attempt will be held from February 23 to 26, 2021. Hence, the dates have been pushed back by a day. Check the live webinar below.

Exam date for JEE Main 2021 is 23 to 26 Feb 2021. JEE Main 2021 will be held 4 times a year on Feb, Mar, Apr, and May.
This time, there will be 90 question in JEE and candidates will have to attempt 75 only. There will be 15 optional questions with no negative marking.
If board exams of any candidate clashed with the date for JEE Main then the students can appear for another session of JEE Main. Each candidate need not appear for all the attempts / session.
Apart from this, the minister also confirmed:
- The exam will be held in 13 regional languages which are – English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Marathi, Malayalam, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, Urdu.
- B.Tech / B.E admission in UP shall be done via JEE Main 2021. Hence, UPSEE has been canceled.
- The rank of JEE Main 2021 will be prepared on the basis of final score.
- If a candidate appears for multiple session of JEE Main 2021 then the final score will be the best score out of all the attempts.
One day before, on December 15, 2020, NTA had uploaded the information brochure of JEE Main 2021 on the official website jeemain.nta.nic.in.
As per it, JEE Main 2021 was to be held between February 22-25, 2021. but a few hours after the uploading of the brochure, the same was removed from the website. Now on December 16, 2020, Education Minister, Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, announced the final JEE Main 2021 exam date.

In the webinar, Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank announced few crucial details but did not announce any date for the release of the application form. However, form has been released online, on 16 Dec.
Just like the information brochure, the date for the release of the application form was also announced yesterday. As per the details on the website, the application form was to release on December 15, 2020. However, it was not released.

A few hours after updating the JEE Main website for 2021, the brochure and registration notice was taken down, as shown below:

As per the information available on jeemain.nta.nic.in, JEE Main is being conducted in multiple Sessions (February/March/April/May 2021) for admissions in the next academic session. Candidates will be able to apply for all 4 sessions or any 1 or any 2 or any 3. The application fee will be applicable accordingly. For each session, the application window will open separately after the declaration of the result of the February / March / April Session.

Major Changes in JEE Main 2021
The major changes in JEE Main 2021 are as follow:
#1. Number of JEE Main 2021 Attempts
From 2 times a year to 4 times a year, JEE Main 2021 attempts have been increased by 2 times. In 2021, JEE Main will be held for 4 times – Feb, March, April, May. Earlier the exam was held 2 times in January and April.
#2. Regional Language Introduced
Taking inspiration from the National Education Policy (NEP), regional languages have been introduced in JEE Main 2021. Now the candidates will be able to choose the language of the exam in the online form as per their location of preferred exam center. Languages of question papers will be English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Marathi, Malayalam, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, Urdu. Earlier JEE Main was held in 3 languages only Hindi, English, and Gujarati.
#3. Pattern Changed
The exam pattern has undergone changes. Now there are 2 sections in each subject – section A, B. Section B has optional questions. Earlier all the questions in the exam were compulsory. For all the 3 papers, Section A will be of Multiple-Choice Questions (MCQs) and Section B will contain Questions whose answers are to be filled in as a numerical value. In Section B, candidates have to attempt any 10 questions out of 15. There will be no negative marking for Section B.
#4. More Seats Available via JEE Main 2021 Scores
UPSEE 2021 stands cancelled. Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University, Lucknow will use the score sheet of JEE Main 2021 for admission. Thus around 1.40 lakh seats in 750 colleges affiliated to AKTU across Uttar Pradesh will be filled based on JEE Main 2021 scores.

In Section B, candidates have to attempt any 5 questions out of 10. There will be no negative marking for Section B.

JEE Main 2021
The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE Main) is conducted by NTA and it has two papers. The Paper 1 is conducted for admission to Undergraduate Engineering Programs (B.E/B. Tech) at NITs, IIITs, other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions (CFTIs), Institutions / Universities funded/recognized by participating State Governments, as well as an eligibility test for JEE Advanced, which is conducted for admission to IITs. Paper 2 is conducted for admission to B. Arch and B. Planning courses in the country.
