Number of Students Appeared in JEE Main 2021 Exam: A Report on JEE Main Result 2021 of March Exam
The JEE (Main) Examination for B.E./B.Tech. was conducted by NTA from 16 to 18 March 2021. A total number of 619638 candidates were registered for Paper 1 (B.E. /B. Tech.) in this examination.
The Examination was conducted in 334 Cities [including 12 cities outside India in Baharain, Colombo, Doha, Dubai, Kathmandu, Kualalumpur, Lagos, Muscat, Riyadh, Sharjah, Singapore, and Kuwait] in 792 Centres. Kargil, Kualalumpur, and Lagos were added for the first time on the request of candidates.
A total number of 707 Observers, 261 City-Coordinators, 19 Regional Coordinators, 06 Special Coordinators & 02 National Coordinators were deployed at these centres to oversee the smooth and fair conduct of the examination.
The examination for Paper 1 (B.E. /B. Tech.) was conducted in a total of 6 shifts from 16 to 18 March 2021. The scores of Paper 1 (B.E./B.Tech.) are being declared today.
The Examination was conducted for the second time in 13 languages (English, Hindi, Gujarati along with Assamese, Bengali, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu).

How is the JEE Main 2021 Result Compiled
For all the sessions, the compilation of the result takes place in the same manner. We have discussed the same below:

JEE Main 2021 rank is assigned to the candidates based on their best overall percentile score out of all their attempts. Tie Breaking In JEE Main 2021 Result
In case of two or more candidates obtain equal NTA score in the entrance exam, then the tie is resolved by applying the following methods to give them rank–
Tie Breaker Criteria for Paper 1 (B.Tech)
The ties are resolved in following order in this paper:
- NTA score in Mathematics, followed by
- NTA score in Physics, followed by
- NTA score in Chemistry, followed by
- Candidates having a lesser ratio of negative to positive responses

The ties are resolved in following order in this paper:

What After JEE Main 2021 Result?
Once the result of the exam has been announced, candidates have to decide whether they want to appear for more attempts. If not, then they need to wait for the final result after the final session of the exam that shall have the AIR and the cutoff for JEE Advanced.
The candidates looking to appear for JEE Main 2021 rest of the sessions, need to apply for it by filling the application form. The JEE Main 2021 application form is released as per a specific schedule before each of the attempts.
When the final JEE Main 2021 result is out after the May session, candidates who qualify the JEE Main 2021 cutoff for JEE Advanced 2021, can apply for JEE Advanced. The rest f the candidates have to appear for the JoSAA counselling for admission in the NITs, CFTIs and the IIITs.

Changes in IITs, NITs, and CFTIs Admission Criteria via JEE Main 2021 Scores
The following changes have been made this year for admission to the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), National Institute of Technology (NITs), and Central Funded Technical Institutes (CFTIs). The eligibility that has been changed is as follows:
Old eligibility: The candidates must have any one of these 2 things for admission in the IITs, NITs or CFTIs:
- Minimum 75% marks in aggregate in 10+2. or
- Rank among the top 20 percentile in their qualifying examinations.
This criteria has been removed only for this year, due to the prevailing situations. The new criteria are as follows:
The candidates just need to qualify in their 10+2 exam for admission in IITs, NITs, and CFTIs. No minimum marks are needed.
JEE Main 2021 Counselling – JoSAA 2021
The counselling of JEE Main is held jointly with the Advanced examination. It is called as JoSAA counselling. During the counselling, JEE Main rank holders get a change to select course and college in which they wish to get admission. Then, on the basis of the submitted choices, seats in college, and rank of the candidate seat is allocated.
The counselling is only conducted online, and provides a common platform to candidates to apply for various colleges. The counselling mainly consist of following steps:
Step 1 – Online registration and choice filling.
Step 2 – Allotment of seats on the basis of rank and preferences.
Step 3 – Document verification and accepting seat by paying the fee.

About JEE Main 2021
Joint Entrance Examination – Main earlier known as All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE) is a national-level engineering entrance test.
