How to Check JEE Main 2021 Result?

To check the result of JEE Main 2021, candidates can follow the steps below:

1st step: To check the result, first of all, candidates need to go to the official website.

  • Candidates can directly access login by clicking on the link above.

2nd step: On the official website, candidates need to look for the “View JEE Main 2021 Result and Rank” button.

3rd step: Now, the login window opens, it looks as shown below. Access it by entering the application number and date of birth.

5th step: Inside the dashboard, candidates can check the link to download the scorecard of JEE Main 2021.

6th step: Click on the link and the PDF of the scorecard is saved on the local system.

7th step Check and download the scorecard.

How is the JEE Main 2021 Result Compiled

For all the sessions, the compilation of the result takes place in the same manner. We have discussed the same below:

Step 1: Raw score calculation

The raw scores are calculated using the marking scheme. It is done based on the answers given on the final JEE Main 2021 final answer key.

Step 2: Raw score is converted to percentile score (NTA score)

Since JEE Main 2021 is held in multi-shifts, NTA scores will be calculated corresponding to the raw marks obtained by a candidate. NTA scores are calculated for each of the three subjects and overall.

JEE Main 2021 All India Rank

JEE Main 2021 rank is assigned to the candidates based on their best overall percentile score out of all their attempts. The rank is mentioned in scorecard which is uploaded after the final attempt which is in May 2021. The candidates are raked in the category they belong to. This there are the following types of rank list in JEE Main 2021:

Tie Breaking In JEE Main 2021 Result

In case of two or more candidates obtain equal NTA score in the entrance exam, then the tie is resolved by applying the following methods to give them rank–

Tie Breaker Criteria for Paper 1 (B.Tech)

  • Candidates who secure more percentile score in Mathematics will be placed higher.
  • If there is still a tie, aspirants who secure more percentile score in Physics will be ranked higher.
  • If the tie is still not resolved, those who secures more percentile score in Chemistry will be ranked higher.
  • Even if the above criteria do not break the tie, aspirants with less number of negative responses in the paper will be ranked higher.

Tie Breaker Criteria for Paper 2a (B.Arch)

  • Candidates who secures higher marks in mathematics will be given a higher rank.
  • If there is still a tie, then the aspirant with a higher score in the aptitude test will be allotted a higher rank.
  • If there is still a tie, then aspirants with higher scores in the drawing test will be given higher rank.
  • In case, the above criteria does not resolve the tie, aspirants having lesser number of negative responses in the paper will be ranked higher.

Tie Breaker Criteria for Paper 2b (B.Plan)

  • Those who obtain higher marks in the mathematics will be given a higher rank.
  • If there is still a tie, then the aspirant with higher scores in the aptitude test will be given a higher rank.
  • If the tie still persists, then the candidate will higher marks in planning based questions will be given the higher rank.
  • Even if the above criteria do not break the tie, aspirants with less number of negative responses in the paper will be ranked higher.

As per the experts the marks v/s percentile for JEE Main 2021 is as follows. Note that this is a comparative study, and are subjected to change based on the number of candidates in the shifts, the marks of the topper in each shift, the difficulty level of the paper, total number of candidates appearing in the exam, etc.

What After JEE Main 2021 Result?

Once the result of the exam has been announced, candidates have to decide whether they want to appear for more attempts. If not, then they need to wait for the final result after the final session of the exam that shall have the AIR and the cutoff for JEE Advanced.

The candidates looking to appear for JEE Main 2021 rest of the sessions, need to apply for it by filling the application form. The JEE Main 2021 application form is released as per a specific schedule before each of the attempts.

When the final JEE Main 2021 result is out after the May session, candidates who qualify the JEE Main 2021 cutoff for JEE Advanced 2021, can apply for JEE Advanced. The rest f the candidates have to appear for the JoSAA counselling for admission in the NITs, CFTIs and the IIITs.

Changes in IITs, NITs, and CFTIs Admission Criteria via JEE Main 2021 Scores

The following changes have been made this year for admission to the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), National Institute of Technology (NITs), and Central Funded Technical Institutes (CFTIs). The eligibility that has been changed is as follows:

Old eligibility: The candidates must have any one of these 2 things for admission in the IITs, NITs or CFTIs:

  • Minimum 75% marks in aggregate in 10+2. or
  • Rank among the top 20 percentile in their qualifying examinations.

This criteria has been removed only for this year, due to the prevailing situations. The new criteria are as follows:

The candidates just need to qualify in their 10+2 exam for admission in IITs, NITs, and CFTIs. No minimum marks are needed.

JEE Main 2021 Counselling – JoSAA 2021

The counselling of JEE Main is held jointly with the Advanced examination. It is called as JoSAA counselling. During the counselling, JEE Main rank holders get a change to select course and college in which they wish to get admission. Then, on the basis of the submitted choices, seats in college, and rank of the candidate seat is allocated.

The counselling is only conducted online, and provides a common platform to candidates to apply for various colleges. The counselling mainly consist of following steps:

Step 1 – Online registration and choice filling.

Step 2 – Allotment of seats on the basis of rank and preferences.

Step 3 – Document verification and accepting seat by paying the fee.

About JEE Main 2021

Joint Entrance Examination – Main earlier known as All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE) is a national-level engineering entrance test. It is conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA) for admission to various undergraduate engineering and architecture courses in institutes accepting the JEE-Main score, which mainly consists of National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs), and Government Funded Technical Institutes (GFTIs).
