JEE Main 2021 Registration
National Testing Agency (NTA) has started JEE Main 2021 Registration on 16 Dec 2020. The registration starts at jeemain.nta.nic.in, and the last date to apply is January 16, 2021. Candidates can submit application fee for JEE Main 2021 until January 16, 2021.
The entire process of JEE Main 2021 form filling is online. In the application form, candidates have to enter personal details, education details, address, center choices, language choice, image, and submit fee. Check more details on JEE Main 2021 registration here.

Important Guidelines for JEE Main 2021 Registration
I. You have the option to apply for one Session (February) or more than one Session (March /April /May 2021) together and pay exam fee accordingly. In other words, if you apply only for February Session, then you have to pay examination fee only for that session during the current application period. Thereafter you will have the opportunity to apply again for the March/ April / May Session, when the application window will be re-opened briefly immediately after the declaration of the result of February / March/ April Session. Fee once paid will not be refunded. However, it can be taken forward to another Session of JEE (Main) 2021. Multiple application forms submitted by a candidate for the same Session(s) will not be accepted at any cost.
II. The fee can be submitted only online through Net Banking, Credit Card or Debit Card, UPI or Paytm Services. Processing charges and GST as applicable are chargeable to the candidate (in addition to the examination fee) by to the concerned Bank/Payment Gateway Integrator. For details / procedure, please see Appendix-IV.
III. For those candidates who would apply for more than one Session of examination (February/March/April/May), may change their Choice of Cities in the correction window, which will be opened in due course under intimation to them through Public Notice for each Session.
IV. The Confirmation Page of the online Application Form will be generated only after successful payment. In case the Confirmation Page is not generated after payment of fee, then the candidate may have to approach the concerned Bank/Payment Gateway (in the helpline no. and email given in Appendix-IVthe Information Bulletin) for ensuring the successful payment or for obtaining the refund of duplicate / multiple payments.]
Documents Needed for JEE Main 2021 Registration
Candidates will need following documents while applying for Joint Entrance Examination-Main 2021 February.
- A colour or black/white candidate’s passport size photograph.
- Scanned signature
- PwD certificate, if applicable
- Category certificate, if applicable
- Class 10 and 12 mark sheet, to entering details
- Class 12 result awaited attestation form, if applicable.
- Credit card / debit card /Net banking details.

UPSEE 2021 will not be held. Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University, Lucknow will use the score sheet of JEE (Main) – 2021 for admission to fill 1.40 lakh seats in 750 colleges affiliated to it across Uttar Pradesh.
How to Fill the JEE Main 2021 Application Form
Candidates can check the steps below to apply for JEE Main 2021 application form:
Step 1 – Registration:
- Apply for online registration using own email Id and mobile number.
Step 2 – Complete the application form:
- Fill in the online application form and note down the system generated Application Number. The application number is needed for all future JEE Main 2021 login.
Step 3 – Image uploading:
- Upload scanned images of:
- The recent photograph of the candidate
- candidate’s signature
- Duly verified result awaited attestation form
- Category certificate (SC/ST/OBC/EWS etc.)
- PwD certificate
Step 4 -Payment of application fee:
Pay the application fee applicable fee using SBI / Canara Bank / HDFC Bank /I CICI Bank / Paytm Payment Gateway through Debit Card / Credit Card / Net Banking /UPI and keep proof of fee paid.
Step 5- Confirmation page:
- Download, save, and print a copy of the Confirmation Page of the Application Form (which would be downloadable only after successful remittance of fee) for future reference.

Important Points to Note While Filling JEE Main 2021 Application Form
Correct data: Candidates shall ensure that the information entered by them in their respective online application form is correct.
No correction in details: Information provided by the candidates in their respective online application forms, like, name of the candidate, contact / address details, category, PwD status, educational qualification details, date of birth, choice of exam cities, etc. will be treated as final. Any request for a change in such particulars after the closure of the correction period will not be considered by NTA under any circumstances.
Correct contact details: Candidates must ensure that their email address and mobile number to be registered in their online application form are their own, as all important information is sent by NTA through e-mail on the registered e-mail address and / or through SMS on registered mobile number only.
Eligibility to Apply for JEE Main 2021
The eligibility criteria of JEE Main 2021 is as follows:
Age limit: There is no age limit.
Year of qualifying boards: The candidates who have passed the class 12 / equivalent examination in 2019, 2020, or appearing in 2021 irrespective of their age can appear in JEE (Main) 2021 examination.
Candidates who passed Class 12 / equivalent examination in 2018 or before as well as those who will appear in such examination in 2022 or later are not eligible to appear in JEE (Main) 2021.
State of Eligibility: State code of eligibility means the code of the State from where the candidate has passed Class XII (or equivalent) qualifying examination.
Changes in JEE Main 2021
Major changes has been made in the exam pattern of JEE Main 2021, here are the highlights:
- The languages have been increased from English, Hindi and Gujarati to English, Hindi, Gujarati, Assamese, Bengali, Kannada, Marathi, Malayalam, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telgu, and Urdu.
The option of language for question paper should be exercised while filling up the application form online and it cannot be changed at a later stage.

For Paper 1: B.E./ B. Tech.
- In CBT mode only
Each subject (Physics, Chemistry, and Maths) will have two sections. Section A will be of Multiple-Choice Questions (MCQs) and Section B will contain Questions whose answers are to be filled in as a numerical value. In Section B, candidates have to attempt any 5 questions out of 10. There will be no negative marking for Section B.

JEE Main 2021
The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE Main) comprises of two papers. The Paper1 is conducted for admission to Undergraduate Engineering Programs (B.E/B. Tech) at NITs, IIITs, other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions (CFTIs), Institutions / Universities funded/recognized by participating State Governments, as well as an eligibility test for JEE (Advanced), which is conducted for admission to IITs. Paper 2 is conducted for admission to B. Arch and B. Planning courses in the country.
