JEE Main 2021 Preparation Most Important Factors

The factors that play a significant role in getting a good rank in JEE Mains are as follows:

  • Practicing previous year question papers: This is the most important part when it comes to preparation. So, get all the last 10-15 previous year question papers and solve them. After solving the papers, you will observe that now are able to solve questions in less time and with more accuracy.

JEE Main 2021 Mock Tests

Difficulty Level of JEE Mains

We can categorise questions asked in JEE Main into 3 categories. These are:

Category 1 – Easy questions: These questions are direct and can be easily solved if you have done practice from NCERT. More often than not, these questions are direct and taken straight away from NCERT books.

Category 2 – Conceptual questions: These questions require the candidates to apply a little bit of their own understanding of the concepts they have studied so far. These questions are framed according to the concepts learned from NCERTs. One can say that these are the modified or extended versions of the problems or concepts in NCERT books. These questions are of medium difficulty level.

Category 3 – Hard questions: These type of questions are a bit tricky and one can solve them if a lot of practice is done or if one has referred other books apart from NCERTs. This category of questions requires additional knowledge as well.

How To Prepare Chemistry for JEE Main 2021?

  • Starting with Chemistry, almost 60% – 75% of the questions are directly taken from NCERT.
  • Inorganic Chemistry has questions direct from NCERT whereas, questions asked from Organic Chemistry require the application of concepts as explained in NCERTs.
  • For chapters like Biomolecules, Polymers, Redox Reactions etc, NCERT is the best book to refer.
  • However, to attempt to questions from Physical Chemistry, it is important to refer other books apart from NCERT.

In short, when it comes to preparing for the Chemistry subject, NCERT books are more than enough to get the in-depth knowledge of a concept. However, a few reference books can also be referred to study concepts.

How To Prepare Physics for JEE Main 2021?

  • In Physics, the basics for all the problems are from NCERT and the candidates have to alter the arguments as needed in the problem. For this, the candidates might need other reference books as this requires a deep understanding of the concept.
  • The questions from most of the chapters are framed as per NCERT concepts, however, there are chapters like Oscillations, Waves, Optics, Rotational Dynamics that require a broader knowledge, and for this studying concepts from other books is necessary.
  • The questions from Modern Physics and Mechanics also require deeper understanding and knowledge and for this, it is crucial to refer other books besides NCERT.

How To Prepare Mathematics for JEE Main 2021?

  • Mathematics is a subject that requires constant practicing so that calculations can be done fastly.
  • To prepare for Maths sections for JEE Main, it becomes important for the candidates to solve questions regularly and refer other books apart from NCERT.
  • Sometimes the questions are directly asked from NCERT but many times, the questions asked are tricky and needs additional knowledge.
  • Questions from the Mathematics section require greater thinking and problem-solving skills and one cannot do that by just solving questions from NCERT. For this, a lot of practice is needed which is why it becomes important to refer other books.
  • The questions asked from topics like Co-ordinate Geometry, Complex Numbers, Function etc require an understanding of concepts and techniques to solve but these are not discussed in NCERT book, so it is important to go beyond NCERT books to get a good score in the Mathematics section.

Is NCERT Enough for JEE Mains?

There is an ocean of JEE Main 2021 books and preparation material but NCERT is the most recommended. It is used by national and state level school boards and every topper recommends it. However, is NCERT enough for JEE Main 2021 preparation? There is no correct answer to this question. JEE Main NCERT books for physics, chemistry, and mathematics are definitely important, esp for getting a hang of the basics.   • NCERT books are full of jargons. Here, jargon refers to terms and expressions that are difficult to understand.

  • Also, NCERT books do have not many questions to practice. Being thorough with the concept does not do all the work, and to score good, it is important to solve the questions on your own.

About JEE Main 2021

Joint Entrance Examination is a national level entrance examination that is conducted by NTA for admission into courses like B.E. / B.Tech, B.Arch and B.Plan. JEE Main is a computer-based test (with an exception to Drawing Test in B.Arch). After qualifying the exam, the candidates can take admission in NITs, CFTIs, IIITs.

There are 2 Papers in JEE Main 2021. Paper 1 is for B.E. / B.Tech. Paper 2 is divided 2A and 2B. 2A is for B.Arch and 2B is for B.Plan. The test comprises of multiple-choice questions and numerical value type questions.
