NTA has released the JEE Main 2021 Online Application Form at the official website jeemain.nta.nic.in. Engineering, architecture, and planning aspirants can fill the form till January 16, 2021, and pay fee till January 17, 2021. The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE Main 2021) will be held four times this year for BE/B.Tech, B.Arch, B.Planning admissions in 331 cities in India and abroad. More than 10 lakh students are anticipated to take part in the exam.

The form filling process is critical. Even though you get a chance to correct details later – options in that are limited. Therefore it is best to submit form with correct details directly in one go.

Here are the 10 things you should know about JEE Main 2021 application form before filling the form.
Option to apply for ‘one’ or ‘more than one’ sessions
This time there are 4 sessions of exam
- 1st session is is February
- 2nd session is in March
- 3rd session is in April
- 4th session is in May
Candidates can appear for any number of times (upto 4).
NTA is allowing candidates to apply for multiple sessions at once in the same form.
How to select multiple sessions?: When you are filling up the JEE main 2021 application form of February session, that is the form available right now, you will encounter a section “Apply For”. In this section, there is an option of “Sessions of exam apply for”. Here, you can put a tick mark against any of the options – February, March, April, May.
Note – Do not panic if you are undecided on how many times you wish to appear for the exam. You can select only one session now. And later, if you wish to appear in another session, then you can fill the form for that session when the form for that session is available.
JEE Main 2021 Online Application Form will be available 4 times
NTA will release the application form form for 2nd session in March, after declaring the results of 1st session.
Then the form for the 3rd session will be available after the result of the 2nd session is announced.
Likewise the registration form for 4th session will be available after the result of 3rd session is declared.
Each time, the form will be available for a few days. Note that although the application form for 1st session is open for one month, it will be available for a few days only for the next sessions.
Note – Do not submit multiple forms for the same session.
Exam Center Change Option Will Be Available For Those Who Apply For Multiple Sessions At Once
Candidates who opt for multiple sessions while filling the JEE Main 2021 application form for 1st session only may want to opt for different center the next time. This may happen if the applicant is in another location for any reason during the next exam dates. Or any other reason may arise.
With this in mind, NTA has provided the provision that candidates will be able to change their exam cities choices during the JEE Main 2021 application form correction window. The correction window will be made available through public notice each time.
UPSEE 2021 engineering aspirants will also have to fill JEE Main 2021 application form
From this year onwards, NTA will conduct entrance exam for all programs earlier covered under Uttar Pradesh State Entrance Examination (UPSEE).
Admission to B. Tech, B. Arch, M. Tech (Integrated) Courses will be through JEE Mains. Nearly 1.5 lakh seats in 750 colleges affiliated to AKTU will now be filled through the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE Mains) only. Therefore, students who were earlier planning to apply for UPSEE 2021 to get admission to B. Tech, B. Arch, M. Tech (Integrated) Courses must now apply for JEE Main 2021.
75% Criteria Not Relaxed for JEE Mains 2021
Due to the hardships caused by the pandemic, last year it was decided to waive off the 75% eligibility criteria. However this has not been continued for 2021. Candidates may therefore note the exact eligibility criteria before applying.
A. Eligibility criteria for JEE Main 2021 is as follows:
- Candidate should have passed class 12th in 2019, 2020, or should be passing in 2021.
- The board from which qualifying exam was passed should be either a recognized board in India like CBSE, or Inter/2-year PUC, or final year of NDA, or NIOS SSSE with 5 subjects, or recognized as 12th by AIU, or HSC vocational exam, or diploma, or GCE, or HSCE of cambridge university / IB Diploma of IBO Geneva.
B. Eligibility criteria for NITs, IIITs, CFTIs admissions through CSAB is as follows:
- For BE, B.Tech, B.Arch, B.Planning through CSAB: Candidate should have 75% in 12th class exam, or be in top 20 percentile. SC/ST candidates should have 65%. Subject combination in 12th should be physics, maths as compulsory subjects and any of the subjects Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology/ Technical Vocational subject.
- For B.Arch as per COA: Candidate should have 50% in PCM, and 50% in aggregate in qualifying exam. Candidates should have studied PCM in 12th level.
- For B.Planning as per COA: Candidate should have 50% in math, and 50% in aggregate. Should have studied maths in 12th.
Note – Even if candidate is not fulfilling ‘B’ above, he/she can appear in JEE Main 2021. In such cases they cannot get seat in NITs, IIITs, CFTIs, but compete in other institutes where JEE scores are accepted but percentage criteria does not exist.

The application fee for JEE Main 2021 is as follows. These fee amounts apply in the case of a single session. For each session, the fee is multiplied by the number of sessions applying for.

Photograph, Signature, Certificates to be uploaded in JEE Main 2021 online application form
All applicants have to upload at least 2, and at max 4 documents in the application form. They are – photograph, signature, category certificate, and PWD certificate. Photograph and signature have to be uploaded by everyone, and the certificates have to be uploaded by those who belong to those categories.
Candidates must upload the documents as per the specifications laid down in the JEE Main 2021 information brochure, by NTA. The same are given below.
- Photograph: Should be recent, without mask. It should be as JPEG. File size should be 10 to 200 KB.
- Signature: It should be clear and legible, in JPEG format. Size needs to be between 4 to 30 kb.
- Category certificate: This one has to be a PDF file, of size 50 to 300 kb.
- PWD certificate: This is also to be a PDF file, of size 50 to 300 kb.

Application Form Status and Confirmation Page
Once the application form of JEE Main 2021 is submitted successfully, a confirmation page is generated. Generation of confirmation page means form was submitted.
