IPU CET 2021: Exam Date, Syllabus, Application Form, Eligibility

IPU CET 2021: Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU), New Delhi will conduct IPU CET 2021. It is the university level common entrance exam through which admission is offered to UG & PG courses in the varsity. IPU has more than 90,000 students, 127 affiliated colleges, 175 programmes. IPU CET 2021 will be held for admission to M.Tech, MBA, MA, M.Sc, PG Diploma, B.Tech Lateral Entry, BCA, B.Sc Nursing, B.Ed, BBA, M.Phil, PhD. Last year IPU used JEE Main for admission to B.Tech, CLAT for BA/BBA LLB, LLM, CAT for MBA, NATA for B.Arch, and NEET for MBBS, BDS. However whether there will be IPU CET 2021 for these courses this year or not will be clear in Feb / March when exam date, application form details are announced.

IPU CET 2021

Indraprastha University Common Entrance Test (IPU CET) 2021 will be held in May or June for admission to various UG, PG courses. Notification will be out soon.

IPU CET 2021 Exam Date

GGSIPU will soon announce the schedule for IPU CET 2021. Last year the exam was held in August and September months, after a long delay due to the ongoing situation. In the year before, application form was released on 25 March. The last date to apply was 22 April. Then the common entrance tests were held in May and June.

This year the IPU CET 2021 notification is expected to be announced in February. Followed by release of application form in March. However exam may be held in June to avoid clash with board exam dates. The expected schedule for IPU CET 2021 is as follows.

IPU CET 2021 Application Form

GGSIPU will release IPU CET application form 2021 in March.

Note: IPU CET 2021 will be conducted for limited number of programs. But the IPU CET 2021 application form will be for all the courses that are offered in GGSIPU.

The application process of IPU CET 2021 will be online at the official website of the Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University i.e. ipu.ac.in. Applications through any other mode are not accepted. In addition to filling up the online application form, one must also submit the specified application fee required for IPU CET 2021. Check out the details below.

How to apply?

Candidates interested in admission to various courses offered through the IPU CET 2021 exam have to visit the official website i.e. ipu.ac.in and fill up the application form. However. the first step is registration after which, the payment of fees can be done and candidates can apply online.

IPU CET 2021 Syllabus

The IPU CET 2021 exam is for admission to various UG, PG and diploma courses offered by the University for the academic session starting 2021. As such, the syllabus of the exam depends upon the program that the candidates choose for admission to. IPU CET 2021 Exam Pattern

The previous iteration of the IPU CET exam was held as a Computer Based Test. The exam pattern was modified and made standardized for admission to different courses offered by the University. The exact scheme and pattern of the examination can be checked from the official information brochure as soon as it is released.

  • Mode: The respective CETs are conducted in the form of a Computer Based Test.
  • Duration: The maximum time allowed is 2 hours and 30 minutes.
  • Total questions: There are 100 MCQs in total in the paper.
  • Type of questions: MCQ type questions are asked with 4 options, out of which 1 answer is correct.
  • Marking scheme: +4 for each correct attempt and -1 for any wrong attempt (except PhD and M.Phil courses)
  • Medium of the CETs: All the CETs are to be held in English, except for B.Ed. the medium for B.Ed is bilingual i.e. English & Hindi.

IPU CET 2021 Eligibility Criteria

Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University sets out certain minimum eligibility conditions for admission to different courses. As per the previous year exam, the eligibility conditions were set differently for admission to various UG and PG courses offered by the University. Candidates desiring to apply for the exam for admission to the aforementioned courses must look at the below-mentioned criteria of eligibility.

Eligibility Criteria For Various Post Graduate Programs

Candidates can check the eligibility criteria prescribed by GGSIPU for admission to various PG programs for which CET is to be conducted below.

Eligibility Criteria For Admission To MBA

  • Applicants must have completed Bachelors degree of at least 3 years duration in any discipline by securing at least 50% aggregate marks.
  • Those who have a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Technology or any other subject with at least 50% marks are also eligible to apply.
  • Candidates who have passed the final exam of ICAI (or England), ICWAI (or England) or ICSI are also eligible to apply.
  • Candidates seeking admission to MBA (Financial Analysis) must have passed in Mathematics at the 10 + 2 level.
  • Admission to MBA will be done on the basis of CET conducted by the University only if seats remain vacant after filling up on the basis of CAT 2020 merit list followed by CMAT 2021 merit list.

Eligibility Criteria For Admission to M.Tech

  • Candidates must have secured at least 60% marks in any of the qualifying examinations among B.Tech/B.E., Grad. IETE/AMIE, M.Sc., MCA or MCA (SE) in a relevant discipline as applicable.
  • GATE qualified candidates in a relevant discipline in the session 2021-22 are given first preference in the admission process.
  • For non-GATE qualified candidates, CET qualification is must for admission.

Eligibility Criteria For Admission to MBA (IT)

  • Candidates must have passed B.E./B.Tech with at least 60% marks OR;
  • M.Sc. (CS/IT/Electronics) with at least 60% marks OR;
  • MCA with at least 60% marks.

Eligibility Criteria For Admission to MA (Mass Communication)

  • Candidates must have passed Graduation in any discipline with at least 50% marks.

Eligibility Criteria For Admission to MPT

  • Candidates must have passed Bachelor of Physiotherapy of 4.5 years duration (including internship).
  • Candidates must have secured at least 50% marks in aggregate in the aforementioned qualifying degree.
  • Candidates who have passed in BPT/B.Sc. (PT) of 3.5 years duration (Including internship) with at least 50% marks in aggregate and bridge course of 1 year with 50% marks are also eligible for admission.

Eligibility Criteria For Admission to MOT (Neurology)

  • Candidates must have passed in Bachelor of Occupational Therapy (BOT) with at least 50% aggregate marks.

Eligibility Criteria For Admission to Master of Prosthetics and Orthotics

  • Candidates must have passed in Bacheor of Prosthetic & Ortthotics programme (BPO) with at least 50% marks in aggregate.

Eligibility Criteria For Admission to Master of Science (Env. Management)

  • Candidates must have passed B.Sc. degree with at least 50% marks in aggregate OR;
  • Candidates must have passed B.Sc. (Engg.), B.Tech or B.E. in Civil/Chemical/Agricultural Engg Degree with at least 50% marks in aggregate.

Eligibility Criteria For Admission to Master of Arts (English)

  • Candidates must have passed Graduation in any discipline with at least 50% aggregate marks.

Eligibility Criteria For Admission to Master of Arts (Criminology)

  • Candidates must have completed Graduation by securing at least 50% aggregate marks in the final exam.

Eligibility Criteria For Admission to Master of Science (Forensic Science)

  • Candidates must have passed B.Sc. (Hons) in Physics/Applied Physics or Chemistry/Analytical Chemistry or Biochemistry or Toxicology of Industrial Chemistry or Mathematics/Applied Mathematics or Statistics or Biology (Zoology/Botany/Genetics/Biotechnology/Biochemistry/Physical Anthropology) with at least 50% marks in aggregate.
  • Those who have a B.Sc. of minimum 3 years duration with at least 50% marks in aggregate are also eligible.
  • Candidates who have passed B.Sc. Forensic Science with at least 50% marks in aggregate are also eligible.
  • Candidates with B.Tech (Mechanical/Civil/Electronics/Instrumentation/Chemical/Computer Science Engineering) with at least 50% marks in aggregate are also eligible to apply.

Eligibility Criteria For Admission to Master of Education

Candidates must have secured at least 50% marks in any one of the following programs along with a UG degree with 50% marks in each.

Eligibility Criteria For Admission to Master of Science (Biodiversity & Conservation)

  • Candidates must have passed B.Sc. degree in (Botany, Zoology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Anthropology, any Life Science field).
  • Candidates must have secured at least 50% marks.

Eligibility For Admission to Master’s degree courses

  • Candidates must be a Graduate (3 years course) in any subject of Humanities, Commerce or Sciences.
  • Those who are appearing in 3rd year final exam are also eligible to apply.

Eligibility Criteria For Admission To Master of Science (Natural Resource Management)

  • Candidates must have a B.Sc. degree with Life Sciences, Environmental Sciences, Physical Sciences, Earth Science, Agriculture, Geography/Economics background).
  • Candidates must have secured at least 50% marks in aggregate.

Eligibility Criteria For Admission to Master of Arts (Economics)

  • Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree with Hons in Economics (with Mathematics) or Hons in Statistics (with Economics and Mathematics).
  • Candidates must have secured at least 60% marks in aggregate.

Eligibility Criteria For Admission to Master of Computer Applications (LE)

  • Candidates must have passed Bachelor of Computer Applications/B.Sc. (IT)/B.Sc. (Computer Science) with Mathematics as a course at 10+2 level or Graduate level.
  • Candidates must have secured at least 50% marks in aggregate.

Eligibility Criteria For Admission to Master of Science (Nursing)

  • Candidates must be a Registered Nurse and Registered Midwife with any State Nursing Registration Council.
  • Candidates must have passed B.Sc. Nursing/B.Sc. Hons. Nursing/Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing with at least 55% marks in aggregate.
  • Candidates must have undergone training in B.Sc. Nursing/B.Sc. Hons. Nursing/Post Basic B.sc. Nursing in an Institute recognized by the Indian Nursing Council.
  • Candidates must have at least one year of experience after Basic B.Sc. Nursing.
  • Candidates must have at least one year experience prior or after Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing.

Eligibility For Admission to Master of Science (Yoga)

  • Candidates must be a B.Sc. (Yoga) graduate with at least 50% marks OR;
  • Candidates must be a Science/Medical/Paramedical/Physiotherapy Graduation Level Degree holder with one year Diploma in Yoga Science. The graduate level degree must be acquired with at least 50% marks.

Eligibility For Admission to Master of Vocation (Automobile)

  • Candidates must have passed Bachelor of Vocation (Mechanical/Production/Tool and Due/Refrigeration & Air-conditioning).
  • Must be AMIE (Mechanical) or equivalent.
  • Must have Bachelor of Science (Physical Science) with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics, or Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Physics or Chemistry or Mathematics or equivalent.
  • Candidates must have a Bachelor of Technology/Engineering (Mechanical/Automobile/Mechanical & Automation Engg./Production) or equivalent.
  • Must have a 3 years Diploma in Automobile/Mechanical/Production Engineering or equivalent followed or preceded by Graduation level degree.
  • The two degrees must be done independently in a sequential manner (merit shall be on Diploma marks).

Eligibility For Admission to Master of Vocation (Software Development)

  • Candidates must have secured Bachelor of Vocation (Software Development/Mobile Communication) or equivalent.
  • Candidates must have a Bachelor of Computer Applications.
  • Candidates must have a Bachelor of Science (CS/CS & Engineering/Mathematics/IT/Electronics) or equivalent.
  • Must have a Bachelor degree of at least 3 years duration.
  • Candidates with an Engineering degree are also eligible to apply.

Eligibility For Admission to Master of Vocation (Interior Design)

  • Candidates must have Bachelor of Vocation (Interior Design).
  • Candidates must have at leas 3 years degree program in Interior Design.
  • Must have 3 years Diploma in Interior Design followed or preceded by any Graduation level degree. The two degrees must be done in a sequential manner.
  • Candidates must have at least 3 year recognized degree program in Design.
  • Candidates must have 3 years Diploma in Architecture Assistantship followed or preceded by any Graduation Degree.
  • Candidates must have a Bachelor of Architecture.

Eligibility Criteria For Admission to M.Sc. Medicinal Chemistry & Drug Design

  • Candidates must have secured at least 50% marks in B.Sc. Chemistry/B.Sc. with Chemistry as a major subject.

Eligibility Criteria For Various UG Programs

GGSIPU conducts CET for admission to some UG programs while for others, qualifying in National Level Tests conducted by relevant authorities is mandatory.

#1: Candidates are advised to always get the syllabus first. Based on the syllabus of the respective CET exam, candidates can sort out the important topics and sub-topics that they have to study. Necessary learning materials for each topic/subject can also be gathered.

#2: Candidates are recommended to devise a study plan in due time and act on its implementation. Without this, it is virtually impossible to complete the vast syllabus of the exam.

#3: Solving practice papers previous year papers and mock tests can help a lot to get acquainted with the exam while also getting an idea of the typical; questions that are asked in the exam. Candidates are suggested to gather previous year papers for relevant CET exam.

#4: Revisions form an important part of the study strategy. Candidates must not forget to include a separate time slot for revisions every day.

#5: It is generally recommended to prepare short notes on their own while studying any topic. This improves the chances of remembering important concepts and facts.

IPU CET 2021 Admit Card

Based on the previous year information brochure of IPU CET, the GGSIPU issued E-admit cards through the official website of the University. IPU CET 2021 Admit Card is expected to be released at the University website ipu.ac.in. Candidates are required to download and print the admit card. A copy of the print out needs to be carried to the designated exam centre.

Check out some very important points to remember about IPU CET 2021 Admit card below.

  • In case the admit card is issued without photographs, candidates have to carry 02 recent passport-sized photographs at the exam centre.
  • In addition to the print out of the IPU CET 2021 Admit Card, candidates are also required to carry a valid photo identification proof to the exam centre.
  • The extra copies of photographs are to be pasted on the attendance sheet/admit card by the Invigilator at the exam centre.
  • Candidates can find the date and time of the corresponding CET exam mentioned on the e-admit card.
  • Colour photocopies, scanned copies or soft copies of the photo identity card are accepted. Candidates have to produce the identity in original and in hard copy.
  • Candidates without having a valid admit card are nor allowed to enter the exam centre.
  • Candidates must strictly adhere to the reporting time as specified on the IPU CET Admit Card.
  • Candidates are advised to retain the admit card for future records.

IPU CET 2021 Result

As per the previous year information brochure for admission to various courses offered by Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU) through the IPU CET exam, the results are declared on the university website i.e. ipu.ac.in as per schedule after the exam. No intimation will be sent personally to candidates regarding the declaration of results or the commencement of the counselling for admission processes.

As per previous year information brochure, only the ranks of the candidates who are declared as qualified in IPU CET 2021 will be declared and displayed. Results of National Level Tests will, however, be declared by respective conducting bodies.

IPU CET 2021 Counselling

As per the previous year information brochure for admissions through IPU CET, no separate intimation regarding the commencement of counselling for admissions will be done to the candidates. Candidates will, however, be called for counselling for admission depending upon the number of seats available in each program provided that they have acquired a qualifying rank in the respective CET or National Level Test. As per the previous year counselling trends for admission to GGSIPU, the procedure was carried out both online and offline.
