The selection process for IIM Kozhikode takes place in three stages. The three stages are given below.

Stage 1 : Registration of candidates meeting the minimum eligibility criteria
All those candidates who have opted for IIM Kozhikode will need to meet the minimum eligibility criteria, as described earlier also. The eligibility criteria are as described follows.
For students with graduation degrees: 60% aggregate marks
For students without graduation degree: 50% aggregate marks in CA/ICWA/CS (to qualify)

Those candidates who meet the eligibility criteria are notified via email to register on the website. It is a must for you to register at the website. If you do not register at the official website, you will not be considered for Stage 2 of the selection process.
Stage 2 : Shortlisting for Personal Interview
After you successfully register on the website, you will be considered for a Personal Interview. Merely registering does not confirm the call for an interview. A list will be prepared on the basis of several scores and only those shortlisted candidates will be invited for a Personal Interview. The list is prepared on the basis of the Aggregate Index Score.
Aggregate Index Score- It is a score that is calculated on the basis of several factors such as CAT score, Class 10 score, Class 12 score, etc. The weightage for each section is given in the table below.

Gender or Academic Diversity Score
10% weightage of marks is given on the basis of gender or academic diversity. Gender Diversity score is given to female candidates only. Academic diversity score is given to candidates who have pursued or are pursuing graduation from any field other than engineering and technology. You can score only 10% and not more than 10% if you have both gender and academic diversity.
Work Experience Score
Candidates will be awarded 5% weightage based on the work experience they have. The value depends on the length of the professional work. See the image below for official notice regarding the work experience score.
Stage 3 : Final Shortlist
The candidates who have been shortlisted in Stage 2 will be called for Stage 3 which is Personal Interview. The candidates will be evaluated based on several factors such as:
- Academic Merit
- General Awareness
- Attitude, quality and communication
- Quality of Work Experience
After the conclusion of the Personal Interview, a final shortlist is prepared. The scores for the final shortlist are computed based on the overall performance of the candidate in the CAT exam, Personal Interview, and the resume of the candidate.
