Selection Process of IIM Bangalore
The selection process of IIM Bangalore will consist of two phases.
Phase 1 – In phase one, the first shortlist will be made of the candidates who meet the eligibility criteria of CAT 2021 and have a percentile equal to or greater than the cut-off percentile.
After the first shortlist will be prepared based only on the CAT 2021 scores, screening of students will be done in order to narrow down the list. For this, along with the CAT 2021 scores, the academic performance of candidates, gender diversity, and their work experience will also be taken into account. The weightage of each is given in the table below.

According to the list prepared, students will be shortlisted for phase 2 of the selection process.
Phase 2 – The students selected for phase two will be invited for a personal interview. This personal interview will be conducted online due to the current COVID condition. Along with the personal interview, a written ability test (WAT) will also be conducted for the shortlisted students. In the Written Ability Test, a random topic will be given to the students by IIM Bangalore. The candidates will have to write on the given topic in a given period of time (Generally 30 minutes).
The final selection criteria of IIM Bangalore will also take into account the scores secured by candidates in the Personal Interview and Written Ability Test along with all other previous components. The weightage of each component for final selection criteria is,
