IIFT Exam Analysis 2022: NTA has successfully conducted the IIFT 2022 today. IIFT 2022 was conducted on 05 December 2021 between 10.00 am – 12.00 pm. This year the total number of questions is 110. The weightage of questions in each section are – VARC (35), DILR (30), Quant (25), and GK (20). IIFT 2022 was conducted from 10.00 am to 12.00 pm. In various parts of the country, students faced several issues in today’s exam. Some of the major issues faced by the students in IIFT 2022 are:
- In various exam centers, exam was not started on time.
- The user interface was very glitchy, the candidates were unable to see some charts and graphs of DILR section.
- Invigilators present inside the exam hall were behaving unprofessional.
- NTA has explicitly mentioned that all covid protocols needs to be followed but the exam centers were not provided any measures for social distancing.
- The hardware present inside the exam hall were very old and in bad conditions.
- In some centers the management was very poor, the candidates were allowed inside the exam hall without proper frisking.
- State of some of the exam centers were very bad, there were no proper sitting arrangements for the candidates.

The total number of questions was 110. VARC had 35 questions, LRDI had 30 questions, Quant had 25 questions, and General awareness had 20 questions.
The overall level of difficulty of IIFT 2022 was moderate. IIFT 2022 was difficult as compared to last year. The general category students can expect a cutoff of 140.
Data Interpretation was lengthy and calculation-based. One caselet in DI was a pie chart based on food crop distribution. The second caselet was a line chart based on a variety of rice. The third set was a bar diagram.
LR questions were based on games and tournaments (1st set), points distribution of competition in IIFT (2nd set), two miscellaneous puzzles.
The quant section was moderate to difficult. Some of the questions were similar to the CAT 2019 question paper. 10-11 questions were from arithmetic. 1 question in Quant was directly taken from the Arun Sharma book.
GK sections came from diverse topics like the Human development index, Olympics, tennis, IMF, etc. The visual-based questions were difficult.
There were 4 RC passages of nearly 350-400 words. Two RC sets had 4 questions each, one RC set had 5 questions while the fourth one had 3 questions.
VARC had questions from identifying correct spellings, synonyms, antonyms, vocabulary-based questions, questions based on foreign words. The biggest surprise was there was no question from para jumbles.

IIFT Analysis for Last Year
The IIFT 2020 paper was easier than the last two years as it was held online for the first time. Out of all the 4 sections, section A (Quantitative Reasoning) was the most difficult and the lengthier as compared to last year. Section B ( Reading comprehension and Verbal Ability) was similar to previous years with a moderate difficulty level. Grammar was easy while Vocabulary and Para jumble questions were tricky. Section C ( Data interpretation & logical reasoning) was a lengthier and very calculation-intensive section. The LR sets were easier to solve than the DI sets. Section D (General Awareness) was the easiest. Students who have read newspapers daily were able to solve the questions easily. The following table summarizes the analysis for the candidates-

IIFT Last Year Analysis – Quantitative Reasoning
The level of this Quantitative Reasoning section was the toughest. The questions were a bit trickier and lengthier than the previous year. The section had a total of 25 questions with -1 negative marking. A large number of questions were from arithmetics including percentages, SI-CI, time and work, time and distance, etc. Other questions were asked from trigonometry, height, and distance. It has been seen that the difficulty level of quantitative ability has been increasing year after year. The distribution of questions is given below:

IIFT Last Year Analysis – Reading comprehension & Verbal Ability
This section was of moderate difficulty level and could be easily done by candidates who have practiced previous years’ mock papers. The verbal ability questions were inference-based and not very difficult to answer. There were 4 comprehensions, the first one being the lengthiest. The number of questions in RC was the same as last year’s trends. Grammar questions were easy while vocabulary was difficult with new words. Para jumbles were more logical than grammatically correct. IIFT Last Year Analysis – Data interpretation & Logical reasoning
The difficulty level of this section of the IIFT 2021 exam was moderate to high. The section had 30 questions in total with 16 on data interpretation (DI) and 14 on Logical reasoning (LR). The DI questions were calculation intensive and lengthier to solve than the LR questions. The DI set on the table and pie chart was the most difficult and lengthiest out of all the sets. IIFT Last Year Analysis – General Knowledge
This section was the easiest among all the other sections. It followed the usual pattern as per the past year’s trends. Candidates who read daily newspapers and watch news channels regularly can easily solve this section in 10 to 15 minutes. The number of questions from static GK (11 ques) was more than from current Affairs (9 ques). Questions were from diverse topics like sports, brands, international events, space science, etc.

Students can check the previous year’s cut-off to determine the IIFT Cutoff 2021. Cutoff refers to the minimum marks scored by the student to qualify for the selection and counseling rounds. The cutoff for IIFT 2021 will be available after the immediate conclusion of the exam on 5th December 2021.
