Candidates who are interested in pursuing fashion and design programs can apply and appear in the IIAD Entrance Exam 2021 that include iDAT, iMAT, PI rounds. Students interested in admission to the Indian Institute of Art & Design New Delhi can now do the IIAD 2021 registration. To submit your candidature, register and submit the IIAD 2021 application form.
How to apply online?
- Visit IIAD’s Online Application Portal.
- The Application Form needs to be completed and submitted along with the necessary documents. An application fee of Rs. 2000 needs to be paid.
- On successful completion of the Application Form, the candidate shall receive an acknowledgement email from the Admissions Team with sample papers and all the relevant information.
You can also apply offline as follows
- To apply offline, you have to visit the IIAD Campus.
- From there, collect the Application Form. Then fill it and submit it along with necessary documents to the IIAD Admissions Office.
- With the form, you have to pay an Application Fee of INR 2,000 at the time of submission.
IIAD has a limited number of seats for each programme. This means applicants who apply early and clear the entrance test in the initial admission cycle, have a higher likelihood of being accepted for the programme of their choice.

The IIAD Design Aptitude Test (iDAT) is a written test designed to assess a candidate’s creative and visual ability, cultural awareness and logical thinking. The exam paper is a combination of visual tasks, writing tasks, one-word answers and multiple choice questions.

The IIAD Management Aptitude Test (iMAT) is a written test designed to assess an applicant’s language, logical reasoning and creative thinking. The exam paper is a combination of multiple choice questions and writing tasks.

The Undergraduate Programme
Our Undergraduate programme offers a total of 150 seats distributed across four courses:
- UG-Communication Design
- UG-Interior Architecture and Design
- UG-Fashion Design
- UG-Fashion Business Management
- Candidates with 10+2 or equivalent in any stream (Science, Commerce, Humanities/Arts) with an aggregate of minimum 50% are eligible to apply. Those appearing for Class XII examination in the current academic year or awaiting results may also apply.
- Candidates are accepted from CBSE/ISC/State/IB or any other equivalent Indian or International Higher Secondary Board.

Our Postgraduate programme offers a total of 40 seats distributed across two courses:

B.A. (Hons.) Fashion Design
The Fashion Design Programme encourages students to explore their ideas, experiences and uniqueness. A wide range of teaching and learning techniques are used to effectively impart knowledge and skills pertaining to the Fashion Design ecosystem. Students discover the trail from yarn to fabric and how to work with materials to develop interesting surfaces and textures. They learn advanced tools and techniques of design, material manipulation and product detailing. By the end of the course they are able to showcase their creativity, individual style and aesthetics and become confident designers.
B.A. (Hons.) Communication Design
The BA Communication Design programme is delivered through an interesting combination of project work, group work, lectures, seminars and assignments. Students are encouraged to create compelling messages right from the concept stage to the final form by using language, visuals, moving images and digital experiences. The communication design programme exposes students to all the fields that fall within the domain which helps them develop into multidisciplinary thinkers.

The Interior Architecture and Design programme focuses on examining existing structures and transforming their interior through relevant design interventions and renovations. M.A. Fashion Design
The postgraduate programme is specifically designed to foster a creative and conceptual knowledge of Fashion Design in graduates who seek to pursue a career path in the fashion industry.
