The facility for withdrawing from the national level engineering entrance exam has been provided by the National Testing Agency (NTA). By using this facility, candidates take back their name from the JEE Main 2021 exam for the particular phase.

The candidates can submit their withdrawal request from March / April / May sessions of JEE Main 2021 within the period till which the application form correction window is open. Hence, the important dates to remember are as follows:

When Can You Withdraw JEE Main 2021 Application Form

Candidates can withdraw their JEE Main 2021 application form only during the application process of the session from which they want to withdraw their application from.

Candidates can not withdraw the form for the session for which the exam has been already held. Therefore candidates can only withdraw the form for the upcoming sessions. For clarification check the table below:

When the March application form is openCandidates can withdraw their applications from March, April, May sessions.
When the April application form is openCandidates can withdraw their applications from April, May sessions.
When the May application form is openCandidates can withdraw their applications from the May session.

Step by Step Process to Withdraw JEE Main 2021 Application Form

The candidates can check the steps below to withdraw the application form of JEE Main 2021 from March / April / May sessions:

1st step: Click on the direct link available on this page. It will direct you to the login page of JEE Main 2021, as shown below. Here, enter the application number and password as generated with registering for JEE Main 2021 for the first time.

2nd step: Under the login, candidates can see the dashboard. The link for application form correction active there, like the one shown in the image below. This is from where you can apply for withdraw as well. To access it, click on it

3rd step: After clicking on the link, the the application form opens. Next, the candidates can edit the details if they wish and can withdraw their application form too following the instructions in the form.

How is Fee Refunded after JEE Main 2021 Application Form Withdrawal?

The application fee that the candidates will be refunded is deposited in the account from which the fee was initially paid. There are the following options available to pay the fee of JEE Main 2021:

SBI / Canara Bank / HDFC Bank / ICICI Bank / Paytm Payment Gateway through Debit Card / Credit Card / Net Banking / UPI.

Thus, out of the above modes, whichever mode was used to submit the application fee initially, the candidates will get the refund in the same manner.

Can The Application Fee be carried Forward To the Next Session of JEE Main 2021?

Yes, the fee can be carried forward to the next session. However, there are the following conditions as per NTA:

JEE Main 2021 Application Form Correction

The application form correction of JEE Main 2021 opens for the registered candidates. The candidates can change all details in the application form. However, some changes have applicable charges against them. However, note that the candidates who have applied for any previous session of the exam, cannot edit the uploaded images in the application form.

To access the application form correction window candidates have to login with their application number and password. Under the login they can access the links for form correction.

No, the application fee will not be refunded for the February exam.

I have applied for all 4 sessions of the exam and have also paid the application fee. But I do not plan to appear in any one session, can I withdraw my form and get a refund?

While the withdrawal facility is open, candidates can make requests for withdrawal. The withdrawal cannot be made for the session for which the exam has already held. refund will be made once the withdrawal request is submitted.

I have applied for the March exam, but I now wish to withdraw the form and apply for April Session. Can my fee be carried forward to April session?

Yes. The candidates can withdraw their March form before the last date of the application window. The candidates can then apply for the April session, and carry forward their March application fee to the April session.

      NTA has just published a notice that says “refund of Duplicate fees (if any) to the concerned candidates (wherever applicable ) will be initiated only after the reconciliation of fee data of all candidates as received from the concerned Banks/Payment Gateways Integrators with the fee data captured in NIC Fee Master. The fee reconciliation will be initiated only after the closure of the application and correction period for May 2021 Session.”
