HORTICET 2021: Application Form, Exam Date, Pattern, Syllabus


Dr. Y.S.R. Horticultural University (DYSRHU), Andhra Pradesh, conducts HORTICET 2021 exam. The exam is for diploma holders who want to pursue 4 years B.Sc. (Hons.) Horticulture degree course. Horticulture Common Entrance Test is an offline exam, details and form for which releases at drysrhu.edu.in. It is a 2 hour exam, in which MCQ type questions are asked. The HORTICET exam is held at a state level through which applicants are given admission into the colleges / universities in the state of Andhra Pradesh. The four year B.Sc. (Hons.) course is further divided into 8 semesters. Shown below are the important dates for HORTICET 2021.

Last year, HORTICET was held on 10 November. However, in the years before, the exam has been held in the month of July. The delay was due to the pandemic but now that things are becoming normal again, it is expected that this time HORTICET shall be held in the month of July.

HORTICET 2021 Eligibility Criteria – Who Can Apply?

The applicants must read and understand the eligibility criteria before filling the HORTICET 2021 application form. If any one is found ineligible at a later stage, the candidature is cancelled.

Following are the expected eligibility criteria for HORTICET 2021, based on last year’s exam. As soon as this year’s brochure is out, details will be updated.

Age Limit:

  • The minimum age of the candidate must be 17 years on or before December 31, 2021.
  • The maximum age limit is 22 years.
  • In case SC / ST candidates, the maximum age is 25 years and the same for the PWD candidates is 27 years.

Education Qualifications:

  • The candidate should have passed the Diploma course from the Dr.Y.S.R. Horticultural University (DYSRHU).
  • Candidates who are completing the same in 2020-21 session, can also apply, but they need to submit final memorandum of marks-cum-pass certificate of Diploma in Horticulture at time of admission.

HORTICET 2021 Application Form

The HORTICET 2021 Application Form is made available on the official website i.e drysrhu.edu.in. Candidates have to apply offline as they need to download the proforma online and the fill and send it to the below mentioned address. They need to send the application fee through Demand Draft and also submit important enclosures along with the HORTICET 2021 application form.

Exam Pattern of HORTICET

To ace the HORTICET 2021 examination, the applicants must read and understand the exam pattern thoroughly.

  • The HORTICET exam is an offline examination. Candidates have to write it with Blue /Black ball point pen only.
  • The duration of HORTICET the same is 2 hours.
  • In total, 200 questions are asked in the exam and these are of MCQ type.
  • Candidates can only attempt the exam paper in Telegu language.

HORTICET 2021 Admit Card

The conducting body releases the HORTICET 2021 admit card on the official website. Candidates can download the same by logging in with their phone number and hall ticket number. The hall ticket comprises of important details like name of applicant, test centre name and address, roll number timings and instructions for applicants. Only if candidates have their HORTICET 2021 Admit Card and ID proof are allowed to enter the test centre premises.

Given the state of COVID in the country, candidates will be allowed to carry – Marks, Gloves, Personal Transparent Water Bottle, and a Pen.

HORTICET 2021 Result

The conducting body releases the HORTICET 2021 result on the official website. It is displayed in the form of a merit list. Candidates can check the same directly from the website. The rank list is prepared on the basis of the marks obtained in the HORTICET 2021 result. The admission is based on the region and category wise rules of reservation.

The HORTICET merit list consists of the following details.

In case two or more candidates, secure the same marks in the HORTICET exam, then the tie is solved in the following manner.

  1. First of all, the marks in the OGPA in Diploma in Horticulture course is considered.
  2. Then, Date of birth is taken into consideration. For instance, the older candidate is ranked higher.
