GUJCET 2021 – Gujarat Secondary & Higher Secondary Education Board (GSHSEB) has declared the result of GUJCET 2021 on August 20, 2021, at gseb.org. Earlier, the provisional answer key of GUJCET 2021 was released on August 13, 2021. Candidates were also challenged with the answer key via a form, till August 17, 2021. And pay the requisite amount of Rs. 500 per question and answer key that challenges. The entrance exam was held on August 06, 2021.
Gujarat Common Entrance Test (GUJCET) is a state-level engineering entrance exam. It is held for admission into Degree Engineering, Degree / Diploma Pharmacy courses in Gujarat state. The test is held in offline mode. There are multiple-choice questions in the test. The questions in the test are asked from Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics / Biology. As per reports, this year the weightage of class 12th marks in merit list preparation might be lesser than GUJCET 2021. Every year, 60% weightage is given to the class 12th marks and 40% to the GUJCET marks while preparing the merit lists for admission. However, this year, the state education department is planning to give 60% weightage to the GUJCET marks and 40% to the class 12th marks.

GUJCET 2021 Answer Key
GSEB releases official answer keys for physics, chemistry, maths, biology at gseb.org. Candidates can download PDF of GUJCET answer keys at gseb.org. The official keys can also be challenged. Use the question paper and answer key to predict marks before the announcement of results.
To calculate score using the GUJCET 2021 answer key:
- Add 01 marks for the correct answers
- Deduct 0.25 marks for the incorrect answers
GUJCET 2021 score = 1 X (number of correct answers) – 0.25 X (no. of wrong answers)
Note: For questions with multiple responses you get 0 marks.
Provisional GUJCET Answer Key: GSEB releases GUJCET provisional answer key first. It is released a few days after the exam has been conducted. GUJCET provisional answer key can be challenged, if the candidates find any error in it. To challenge the provisional answer key, the candidates have to pay the challenging fee as well.
Final GUJCET Answer Key: After reviewing the errors raised by the candidates against GUJCET provisional answer key, GSEB releases the final answer key. It is released few days after receiving the challenges. GUJCET final answer key cannot be further challenged.
GUJCET 2021 Admit Card
GUJCET admit card has been released for registered candidates, on the official website. To download the admit card, candidates need to login at gseb.org. After downloading the admit card, candidates must verify all the details and if there is any error then inform GUJCET cell about it.
On the day of the test, candidates need to carry a hard copy of the GUJCET 2021 admit card as a print copy. Candidates need to sign at 2 places on the admit card and also get it signed by the block supervisor.

GUJCET 2021 Exam Pattern
The exam pattern of GUJCET 2021 is set by GSEB. Candidates can check it from below:
Language: The question paper will be provided in Gujarati, Hindi, and English language.
- The question paper is provided to the candidate in that language which they selected in the application form.
Question Type: All the questions in the exam are of multiple choice questions.
- Candidates get 4 answer options and only 1 is correct.
Total marks: The total number of questions in the exam is 120.
Marking scheme: All the questions in the exam are of 1 marks. Negative marking is of 0.25 marks.
Important Note: Negative marking of 1 mark is done if a candidate selects multiple options as the answer.

- There shall be combined paper for Physics and Chemistry and the OMR answer sheet will be given for 80 answers.

GUJCET 2021 Preparation Tips
Here are some preparation tips for cracking GUJCET 2021 with flying colours.
Practice previous year papers: As the exam approaches closer, increase the practice of past year question papers. To do so buy OMR answer sheet and attempt the previous year papers by marking the answers in the OMR sheet. This prepares for the real exam and improves speed.
Cover the full syllabus: The syllabus for GUJCET 2021 is no different from the school’s syllabus. It is based on the 10+2 syllabus of the students. Therefore t is easier to cover the syllabus, as students do not have to cover anything more than what they already study in their school.
Revise all chapters: Revise all chapters and cover all important topics from them. Keep analysing the preparation with regulars practice tests.
Speed practice: There are 120 questions in GUJCET that must be attempted in 180 minutes. Therefore practice achieving a speed of solving one question in at least 1.5 minutes.

GUJCET 2021 Result
Result for GUJCET is announced at the official website of GSEB only. To check the result, the candidates have to enter 6 digit seat roll number. The result for GUJCET is compiled according to the answers indicated in the final answer key. After the declaration of the result, the mark sheet of the candidates is sent to the respective schools in which candidates have applied.
The concerned admission committed then prepares the merit list for the admission.
Tie-Breaking in GUJCET 2021:
Lakh of candidates apply for GUJCET. There is a high probability that two or more candidates end up scoring the same score. Now the question arises that who will be ranked higher? Gujarat HSC Board use certain rules to resolve tie and those are –
- The first rule is to compare the total marks of mathematics and physics. Candidate scoring more marks in Mathematics + Physics is scored higher.
- If the tie still remains, total score in maths and chemistry section is compared.
- Tie still remain unbroken? Marks obtained in Physics and Chemistry section together is considered.
- If the tie still persists, candidate’s section wise score in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and English, individually and respectively is taken into consideration.
- To the final resort, aggregate marks secured in GUJCET is compared
GULCET 2021 Counselling
Admission Committee for Professional Courses (ACPC) conducts GUJCET counselling after the result is released. Candidates whose names appear on GUJCET merit list are called for counselling. Candidate’s verification is done on that day. Once the documents are verified and eligibility is checked, the candidate is allotted a seat. Students are called in different schedules for counselling.
GUJCET 2021 Eligibility
To be eligible to apply for GUJCET 2021, candidates must take care of the following criteria:
Citizenship: Only Indian candidates are eligible to apply for GUJCET 2021.
State Eligibility: Candidates must be a domicile of Gujarat and should have a document to prove it.
- If a candidate has a document for proving state eligibility but is residing in some other place, then also they can apply for GUJCET 2021.
Outside State: Candidates, whose parents are officers / employees working in some other state but are resident of Gujarat, are also eligible if:
- Their parents are officers / employees of central or state government OR are in military forces OR are an employee in the board / corporation governed by the central / state government.
- The candidate should have passed class 12 / HSC examination from a school board recognized by the other state.
Qualification: Candidate must have passed 12th standard from science stream, from a recognized board. In all, there are 61 boards that are valid for GUJCET 2021. These are as follows:
Note: Candidates who are appearing for Class 12th / equivalent and fulfill the criteria above also eligible for GUJCET 2021. These candidates need to make sure that the marks criteria are satisfied when the result for class 12th is announced.
GUJCET 2021 Groups
There are 3 groups under GUJCET 2021 exam. Candidates have to choose a group while applying for GUJCET 2021. These are as follows:
- Group A – physics, chemistry, and mathematics.
- Group B – physics, chemistry, and biology.
- Group AB – physics, chemistry, mathematics, and biology.
GUJCET 2021 Application Form
All the details in GUJCET application form are to be filled in as per the details submitted during the class 12th examination. The process to fill the GUJCET 2021 application form is as follows:
Step 1 – Click on the link above and click on “Click Here For New Candidate Registration”.
Step 2 – Enter details, such as surname, name, guardian name, gender, e-mail id, mobile number, and password.
Note: The generated password should be of at least 8 characters and must contain one uppercase, one lower case, one numeric, and one special character in the list “@#$%”.
Step 3 – The candidates need to login and pay GUJCET application fee. It is as follows:
- Rs. 300 (as per last year)
- Candidates can submit it via online modes, which are SBI Epay System using Credit Card / Debit Card / Net Banking.
Step 4 – After this, the candidates can enter details in the GUJCET 2021 application form and upload images in it.
