Score Calculators, Rank Predictor | PSU Recruitment | Rank vs Marks vs Score |
GATE 2021 Cut Off – With respect to cut off for GATE 2021, there are two things. One is the qualifying marks which is the minimum marks you need to qualify your paper. And the other is the closing rank which is the last rank at which a candidate got admission through GATE 2021 in a certain course in a certain college. The first type of cut off to clear is the qualifying marks, which varies for each of the 27 papers. Here we have provided the GATE 2021 cut off, the expected one before result is announced, and also provided the past year cut offs for all papers i.e. AE, AR, AG, BT, CE, CH, CS, CY, EC, EE, ES, EY, IN, MA, ME, MN, MT, PE, PH, PI, TF, ST, BM, GG, XE, XH, XL.
GATE 2021 Cut Off
As mentioned above, the first hurdle to clear is to get the minimum qualifying mark in your paper. Only those who get this qualifying cut off mark will get a rank and be considered for admission to M.Tech and other courses. PSU Recruitment is also mostly open only for candidates who get qualifying marks.
Cut Off / Qualifying Marks in GATE 2021 will be either 25 marks (out of 100) or μ + σ, whichever is larger
Where,
μ = mean of marks of all the candidates who appeared in the paper.
σ = standard deviation of marks of all the candidates who appeared in the paper.
Now IIT Bombay will not disclose the μ, σ data. Instead, the qualifying marks will be directly announced with the GATE 2021 result.
Until then, here are the predictions on GATE 2021 Cut Off.

The other inputs in the formula are – M is the marks obtained by the candidate (actual marks for single session papers andnormalized marks for multi-session papers). M̅t: is the mean of marks of top 0.1% or top 10 (whichever is larger) of the candidates who appeared in the paper (in case of multi-session papers including all sessions).
