Salient aspects of FDST Result 2020
- FDST is a proprietary examination that is conducted only by NBE so no contents of the exam shall be released making it a confidential examination.
- NBE does not entertain any requests for sharing the contents of the exam. This includes the release of answer sheets or answer keys.
- The result will not be disclosed to the candidate’s parents over the phone.
- Appearing in FDST 2020 does not give the automatic right to provisional or permanent registration with the Dental Council of India or State Dental Council.
NBE is responsible just to conduct the Screening Test, declaring the result, and handling the result to DCI. It plays no role in conducting document verification and eligibility determination. FDST 2020 Qualifying Marks
To be declared as qualified, the candidates have to obtain the following marks. Check the qualifying marks for FDST 2020.
Written Test: There are total 2 papers in FDST. So, in order to qualify the written test, the candidates have to clear each paper of FDST individually. The candidates need to secure minimum 50% in each paper.
Viva-Voce examination: In the Viva-Voce examination also, the candidates have to secure minimum 50% out of the total marks. Since Viva-Voce examination is of 50 marks, so the candidates have to get 25 marks out of 50.
Note: No grace marks are awarded to the candidates under any circumstances.
Compilation of FDST 2020 Result
The result for FDST is compiled according to the marks secured by the candidates in Foreign Dental Screening Test. Basically, the marking scheme is referred to calculate the scores.

Result Status: The candidates who obtain the minimum marks have the status as ‘Pass’ whereas, ‘Fail’ is displayed for those candidates who did not secure the minimum qualifying marks.

FDST 2020 Re-Evaluation of Result
There is no provision of re-totalling or re-evaluation or rechecking of the result. Such requests are not entertained by NBE under any circumstances.
What if a candidate is found to be ineligible after the declaration of the result? If any candidate is found to be ineligible after the conduct of FDST, then the result / candidature of such candidates shall be cancelled or is deemed to be cancelled even the result has been declared and the Pass Certificate has been issued.
About FDST 2020
Foreign Dental Screening Test (FDST) is a Screening Test conducted by National Board of Examinations (NBE). It is a pen-paper based test. In total, there are 2 question papers in FDST. All questions are from the syllabus. This is the examination conducted for the candidates who have a MDS degree / PG Diploma qualifications awarded by a dental institution outside India.
The test consists of multiple-choice questions. It is compulsory for the candidates in both the papers and Viva-Voce examination after qualifying the written test. Paper 1 consists of 100 questions and Paper 2 consists of 150 questions. Only one answer is considered to be correct in FDST.
National Board of Examinations (NBE) was established in the year 1975. It is an autonomous body under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Govt. of India. It is located in New Delhi. NBE was established with the aim of standardizing PG examinations and education in India.
