SCERT organizes DIET Delhi Admission 2021. State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT), Delhi, holds admission process to fill seats in D.El.Ed / DPSE course, offered in the DIET colleges of Delhi. 10+2 qualified candidates, with 50% marks, are eligible for Delhi DIET admission process. The admission is done according to the merit of the qualifying examination (class 12th). The DIET admission 2021 includes registration, release of merit list, document verification, release of admission list, and physically report to the allotted institutes. Both of the courses are of 2 year duration. It must be noted that 85% of the seats are reserved for the candidates who have passed class 12th from any school situated in NCT of Delhi.
On the other hand, 15% of the seats are reserved for the candidates who have completed class 12th from outside any school / study center situated outside NCT of Delhi.

DIET Delhi Admission 2021 Eligibility Criteria
Before the submission of DIET Delhi application form, the candidates must ensure that following eligibility requirements have been met by the applicants. Check DIET Delhi admission 2021 eligibility criteria given below.
- The candidates must not be more than 24 years of age as on 30 September 2021.
- 5% of the upper age limit relaxation is given to the candidates belonging to SC / ST / PwD category
- The candidates must have passed class 12th of CBSE or equivalent examination from any other recognized board.
- The candidates must have at least 50% aggregate marks in class 12th.
Relaxation: 5% of the relaxation is given to the candidates belonging to SC / ST / PwD category. So, the candidates belonging to these categories must have minimum 45% aggregate marks in order to apply.
Note: The aggregate of 5 subjects shall be taken into account. This includes 4 subjects + 1 language (CBSE or other equivalent recognized boards)
Candidates opting for Urdu / Punjabi (For D.El.Ed course): The candidates opting for Urdu / Punjabi languages in respective institutes i.e DIET Karkardooma for Punjabi and DIET Daryaganj for Urdu, should have passed Urdu / Punjabi as one of the subject both in class 10th and 12th exam (For Govt. DIETs only).
Note: Generally, candidates get confused that there is the option of instruction for Urdu and Punjabi language which is not true. There is provision of choosing only one option of teaching i.e. Hindi / Urdu / Punjabi. The candidates are required to opt one language as per their eligibility criteria.
- The applicant must be in good physical and mental health. They should be free of any communicable disease that is likely to disturb studies and can carry out outdoor activities of a teacher.
- Candidates are needed to submit a physical fitness certificate from a recognized MBBS.
DIET Delhi Admission 2021 Application Form
Application form for DIET Delhi admission releases online at the official website of SCERT Delhi, scertdelhiadmission.nic.in. To apply, the candidates must have a valid email id and contact number. Incomplete application forms are not accepted and shall be rejected. Check the application process given below.
Note: While filing the application form, make sure that 10th class CGPA is converted into percentage by following the appropriate formula. The conversion of CGPA formula is = CGPA X 9.5.
Step 1: Firstly, access the link of the application form that is given above on the page.
Step 2: Next, click on the ‘fresh registration’ button and enter the personal and contact details. Select the password of your own choice as well.
Step 3: Then, review the registration details and click on the ‘submit’ button.
Step 4: Now, login with the generated application number and password and enter the qualification and contact details.
Step 5: Next, upload the scanned image of photograph and signature and pay the application fee.
Step 6: Then, fill the choices of self – financed institutes or DIETs and submit the form. Lastly, take the printout of the submit application form for future references.
Application Fee: The expected application fee for DIET Delhi as per last year is as follows:
- Rs 250.
- Application fee can be paid via – debit card / credit card / net banking.
- It must be kept in mind that the application fee is non-refundable.
DIET Delhi Admission 2021 Application Form Correction
The candidates are given an opportunity to rectify their mistakes in DIET Delhi admission form. However, the mistakes have to be rectified within the specified deadline only. The application form correction can be done only via online mode. The candidates can edit the data / preference / choices filled by them in the application form.
The data that cannot be edit in DIET Delhi admission form 2021 after its submission is:

DIET Delhi Admission 2021 Merit List
The merit list for DIET Delhi admission releases online at scertdelhiadmission.nic.in. It is released after the candidates have successfully submitted their application form. The merit list is prepared according to the merit in the qualifying examination. Here, qualifying examination refers to class 12th marks. The merit list is released in the pdf format. It consists of the details like registration number, SCERT rank, date of birth, random number, class 10th and 12th class percentage, category of candidate.
If in case two or more candidates obtain same marks in the class 12th examination, then the tie-breaking policy given below is followed:
- Firstly, the percentage of marks class 10th examination upto two decimal places are considered to break the tie.
- If the tie still persists then, older candidate is given preference.
- In case of still a tie, the draw of lots is adopted for the preparation of the merit list.
Important Instructions for DIET Delhi Admission 2021
The candidates are required to keep the following things in mind if they are taking admission into D.El.Ed / DPSE course.
Ineligible candidates: If at any stage, the official authority finds out that the candidate is ineligible, his / her candidature shall be cancelled. So, before applying make sure to cross-check the eligibility.
Unfair means: It must be noted that any use of unfair means such as submitting the forged mark sheets / certificates etc shall lead to the cancellation of admission and legal action might be taken against the parent / candidate.
Wrongly mentioned marks: If any candidate has specified their marks or percentage in DIET Delhi admission form 2021 wrong or incorrect and then, claim for admission on the basis of their correct marks at the time of admission shall not be entertained. This will not be considered even if their correct marks are under the cut-off score in the admission list. However, SCERT might take decision to this as and when needed.
Original certificates submission: The candidates must note that the original certificates submitted shall be retained by the principal of DIETS / SFS recognized private institutes, where candidates shall be admitted till 6 months from the date of admission. Hence, it is advice to candidates to keep enough number of photocopies of documents with them.
Mobile number to be given at the time of application process: Make sure to mention that mobile number that is accessible to them.
DIET Delhi Admission 2021 Document Verification
Once the merit list has been declared, the candidates have to report at the allotted institute for the document verification. If any candidate does not report for the document verification, his / her candidature shall be cancelled.
The documents that have to be take in original at the time of verification are:
- Printout of DIET Delhi admission form
- Class 10th mark sheet
- Class 12th mark sheet
- Original certificate of class 10th or its equivalent examination
- Category / Sub-category certificate (if valid)
- Medical fitness certificate from a registered MBBS / BAMS doctor
- Candidates taking admission from NIOS or any other distance board must submit any proof for showing that they have cleared class 12th examination from the concerned study center along with other documents
What happens if a candidate fails to produce the above given documents? If the candidates fails the above given documents in original at the time of verification then, their allotted seats shall be cancelled and the same seat shall be allotted to the next candidate in the merit list. But, if a candidate wants to take part in the online counselling then they shall be given an opportunity to edit the form and get a virtual vacancy in DIET / institute after the submission of e-counselling fee.
However, if a candidate fails to remove the deficiency and does not provide original documents or valid certificate from the concerned authority, then his / her candidature shall be cancelled. No further correspondence in this regard shall be entertained.
DIET Delhi Admission 2021 Admission List
After the verification of documents, the admission lists are published on the official website. According to the merit, choices filled by the candidate and category, the seats are allotted. The allotment of seats can be checked through login. If the seat has been allotted to a candidate, then he / she can download the provisional allotment letter after the payment of Rs 1800 (part admission fee).
It must be noted that provisional allotment offer letters are generated only after the reporting of the candidates to the allotted institute.
Freezing of seats: The term of ‘freezing of seat’ refers to when candidates freeze a seat after the allotment. This means that the candidate does not want to take part in the further allotment process. The candidates can freeze their seat through their login id by clicking on the ‘freeze’ button within the deadline.
However, if the candidates does not freeze the allotted seat then, the next higher preference shall be allotted to them in the next round after considering the availability of seats, and choice / preferences filled by the candidates. If in case, a candidate is upgraded to the next DIET / institute, then his / her earlier allotment will automatically end.
After the third round of admission, the candidates are required to physically report to the allotted institute. However, if a candidate wants to take part in the online counselling round then they have to pay Rs 1000.
Sliding of seats: The verified candidates who have been allotted seats and have paid part fee and have reported during the allocation rounds can be considered for sliding. The sliding of seat option is available for those candidates who did not withdraw their admission and did not freeze the allocated seat.The sliding option is available to the candidates as per the availability of seats, preferences chosen by them during the online application process and their merit.
Some Important Points for Sliding of Seats
- If a candidate has paid the part fee and does not want to take part in the sliding round, then they have to freeze their allotted seat.
- At the end of each sliding round, the candidates must report to their allotted DIET / institute for document verification and payment of admission fee.
- The sliding of option after the 3rd round of allocation is available to only those candidates who submit an online request (OTP based) and pay the counselling participation fee.
DIET Delhi Admission 2021 Physical Reporting at the Allotted Institute
All the candidates who have been allocated seats and have their names on the admitted list submitted by the respective institutes shall be called “admitted students”. These candidates have to then physically report to their allotted institutes for the completion of admission processes.
DIET Delhi Admission 2021 Online Counselling
If there are any vacant seats after the 3 rounds for DIET Delhi admission 2021, the online counselling takes place. The vacancy status is displayed on the official website only. For the online counselling, only those candidates are considered who were allotted a seat in any of 3 admission lists but could not take admission due to some reason.
In order to participate in DIET Delhi admission 2021 online counselling, the candidates have to pay participating non – non-refundable fee of Rs 1000 (amount as per last year’s information). The candidates have to submit the options online only. After the payment of counselling participation fee and submission of choices / preferences, the seats are allotted to the candidates.
The candidates have to then report to their allotted institute for the completion of admission process.
