What to wear on CAT 2021 Exam Day

Candidates are only allowed to wear these apparel and footwear inside the examination hall. Candidates can refer to the following points for the information.

  • Dresses such as sweaters, cardigans (without pocket) caps socks are allowed inside the examination hall.
  • Candidates can wear thin soles such as slippers, or slip-on shoes.

What not to wear on CAT 2021 Exam Day

Candidates are not allowed to wear some type of apparel and footwear inside the examination hall. Candidates can refer to the following points for the information.

  • Clothes having pockets are prohibited, candidates are not allowed to wear any type of dress that has pockets attached.
  • As per CAT 2021 guidelines, candidates are not allowed to wear footwear in the examination hall, they have to remove their shoes or sandals outside the exam hall. Shoes/footwear with thick soles are strictly not allowed.
  • Jewelry, metal or ornaments are strictly not allowed, candidates should make sure that they are not wearing any jewelry or carrying any metal with them.
  • Clothes with large button are also not allowed.
  • Candidates should not have any mehendi on their palm as it would create difficulties in recording of fingerprints.

CAT 2021 Exam Day Guidelines

IIM Ahmedabad has released some of the CAT exam day guidelines on the official website i.e. All aspirants are advised to keep in mind the following details while from your home.

  • Candidates must carry two printed copies of the CAT 2021 admit card on an A4 size paper.
  • Pen, paper and writing pads for rough work will be provided to the candidates at the exam centre, Candidates will have to return it before leaving the examination hall.
  • Candidates can only appear once for the examination, and appearing twice for CAT 2021 will leads to disqualification and the candidature will get cancelled.
  • No friends guardians and relatives are allowed to enter inside the examination centre.
  • No request to change the CAT 2021 exam centre will be entertained.
  • To be hassle free on the examination day, candidates are advised to visit the CAT 2021 test centre at least one day in advance by following the google map link which is embedded in the CAT 2021 admit card.
  • Candidates must carry their original ID proof. It can be a voter id card, aadhaar card, pan card passport etc.
  • Electronic gadgets, calculators watches are strictly prohibited inside the examination lab.

CAT 2021 Admit Card

  • Admit card is the most crucial document on the day of examination. Entry in the examination centre will be restricted if, candidate is without the admit card.
  • All the aspirants appearing for the exam must download their CAT 2021 admit card from the official website before November 28 and affix their same passport size photograph which the candidate used along with the CAT 2021 application form.
  • Candidates must print two copies of the admit card.
  • Candidates are requested to not sign their admit card as it has to be done at the exam centre in the presence of the invigilator.

IIM Ahmedabad has released some guidelines that need to be followed by keeping in mind the covid-19 pandemic.

  • Face masks are mandatory, entry will be restricted if the candidates is without a face mask.
  • Temperature check using thermo gun will take place at the examination centre.
  • Maintain social distancing the whole time while you are at the examination center.

When is the CAT exam 2021 date and time?

CAT examination will be held on November 28 (Sunday). The examination will be held in three sessions, the first slot will begin at 8.30 am till 10.30 am, the second between 12.30 pm till 2.30 pm and the third session will be held from 4.30 pm to 6.30 pm.

What is CAT 2021 marking scheme?

According to the CAT 2021 marking scheme, no marks will be awarded to the candidates for the questions not attempted by them. Every wrong answer in the MCQ will result in a deduction of one mark. Whereas, no marks will be deducted for the wrong answers given in non-MCQs.

Are calculators allowed?

Calculators or any electronic device are strictly prohibited. The usage of external or internal calculators is restricted. However virtual calculator will be available.

How many sections are there on the CAT 2021 question paper?

The CAT exam comprises questions mainly from three sections. These are Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension; Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning; and Quantitative Ability.

Can I edit or make changes in CAT 2021 application form, once I have made payment?

Once the CAT application fees are paid no further changes can be made. However, a correction window will be opened but candidates could only edit their photograph or signature only.
