CAT 2020 Result

The CAT 2020 result is declared under the login of the candidates and can be checked using user Id and password. The CAT result 2020 that is issued as scorecard, has following elements:

1. Scaled / normalized score in each section
2. Overall scaled / normalized score
3. Percentile in each section
4. Overall percentile in CAT

The scaled score of CAT is calculated using the formula below:

• N – Total number of candidates who appeared for CAT.
• R – Rank assigned to candidates, on the basis of the scaled score.

• IIM Indore releases CAT response sheet 2020 online, at iimcat.ac.in.
• Response sheet refers to the answers marked by the candidate during exam.
• CAT response sheet is released in the form of question paper with questions, options, correct options (answer key), and answer marked by candidate (responses).
• Candidates can download it during the response sheet viewing window as per the official time table.
• To get response sheet, one has to login at the CAT exam login, using user id and password.
• Candidates can also challenge the response sheet in the same duration, by selecting relevant responses they feel have been mis-taken, and paying requisite fee against it.

CAT 2020 Answer Key

Official Notice: The Objection Management tab for CAT 2020 will be active from 10.00 AM on December 8, 2020 till 5:00 PM on December 11, 2020. Candidates will be able to see the Answer Key as well as their Individual Responses to Questions during this duration.

CAT answer key along with the response sheet and question papers are uploaded under the login of the candidates. The candidates need CAT user Id and password to access them.

CAT official answer key 2020: The official answer key is released by the conducting IIM and after a few days of the exam. The official answer key and response sheet is available for objections. The fee to challenge objection in CAT answer key is (to be announced, last year it was Rs. 1200 per challenge). After reviewing the challenges, a final answer key is also released, based on which CAT scores are calculated.

CAT memory based answer key 2020: Just after the exam is over, many unofficial bodies release CAT answer key. Such bodies include teachers, coaching centers, fellow students, and subject experts. These answer keys can be available in video format, PDF format, social media uploads, etc. The unofficial answer keys can be used to calculate a rough score after the exam to know how well a candidate performed in the test.

Overall the exam was tougher than 2019. Nevertheless the difficulty rating given by CAT mentors is moderate to difficult. VARC and DILR were time consuming. And also the paper had unexpected questions. Each slot had slightly varying analysis.

Exam Date and Time Slots

The CAT exam 2020 is on Sunday, 29 November 2020. IIM Indore, the organizing institute for CAT 2020 for MBA admission 2021, has laid down exam day guidelines, and COVID specific SOPs for the exam. There will be 3 exam slots with the following timings

• Slot 1 – Morning Session (08:30 AM to 10:30 AM)
• Slot 2 – Afternoon Session (12:30 PM to 02:30 PM)
• Slot 3 – Evening Session (04:30 PM to 06:30 PM)

CAT 2020 Official Mock Test – IIM Indore has released the official mock test for CAT exam 2020. This test is of 2 hours for non-PWD candidates, and 2 hours 40 minutes for PWD candidates. The purpose of this mock test is to help candidates familiarize with the computer based test format, and not to reveal the exam pattern or question type. You can take the test here.

Things To Carry For CAT Exam – You must carry a printout of your CAT 2020 admit card (with photo affixed), photo ID proof. Also carry mask, gloves, hand sanitizer, water bottle, 2 pens.

How many rough sheets are given in CAT – You will get writing pad in the exam hall.

CAT exam rules and regulations – Please refer the admit card for the exact rules for CAT 2020 exam.

SOPs – You will have to maintain social distancing at the exam center. As per guidelines, you should have your own protective equipment that include mask, sanitizer, gloves. Officials will check the temperature of all test takers with thermo gun. Those with symptoms of fever, cough, cold will have to sit in separate isolation room to take the test.

CAT Exam Dress Code – Do not wear shoes or footwear with thick soles.

Are Rings Allowed in CAT Exam – There is no explicit instruction for, or against rings. However candidates are advised to avoid jewellery or accessories of any sorts.

Will CAT exam 2020 be postponed? – No. Insofar there is no official notice that gives any indication of postponement of the IIM CAT 2020 exam. Therefore MBA aspirants must attend the exam as per exam date and slot in their admit card.

CAT 2020 Syllabus and Changes in Exam Pattern

Exam Mode – CAT 2020 will be a computer based test.

Exam Duration – The test will be 2 hours long.

Number of questions – IIMI has not announced the exact number of questions that will be asked in the CAT 2020 exam. Last year, CAT exam had 100 questions asked over 3 hours. However this time the overall exam duration has reduced to 2 hours. Hence experts predict that the number of questions will also go down by 30-33%. Therefore the total number of questions may be 70-75.

Sections in CAT 2020 exam: There are 3 sections in the test.

Marking Scheme: +3, -1 for MCQs. +3, 0 for TITA.

Question type: There are 2 types of questions

1. MCQs – Multiple Choice Questions
2. TITA – Type in the answer type questions

Calculator: You can use the virtual calculator during exam.

CAT 2020 Admit Card

IIM Indore, the organizing institute, has released the CAT admit card 2020 as per schedule. Here are the important points you should know.

• The CAT admit card 2020 is issued online only, at iimcat.ac.in.
• You must print all pages of the admit card on A4 size paper using laser printer.
• Also, you need to fix passport size photograph on the CAT 2020 admit card, as per instructions on it.
• The admit card of IIM CAT 2020 is provisional. Which means that at this point your eligibility has not been checked.

Steps to download CAT admit card 2020

• Go to iimcat.ac.in.
• Click on the login link.
• Enter user id and password.
• Once you enter candidate dashboard, you have to click the admit card button. Then again the next admit card button.
• Now, you can download the admit card.

Things to carry for CAT exam – Admit card printout with photograph, ID proof, mask, sanitizer, gloves.
